A smooth and sturdy stout, made with 10% rolled oats, roasted barley and chocolate malt. The name is referential to the founders of Thebes, warriors who sprang from the earth when the teeth of a slain dragon were sown by Cadmus. Bittered with Chinook; finished with Cascade and Columbus hops.

[ Trade with Maria ]. Clear dark black color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, peat. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy malt bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium to ’medium t full’, texture is oily - creamy and smooth, carbonation is soft. (230608)

From tap at Taphouse Grill. Pours almost pitch black, small amber glare, with a small tan head. Aroma is mild tarish and dark roasted malty. Dark chocolate malt flavoured, smooth toasted caramelish to light vanilla accent. Roasted and dark malty finish. Light bitterness into the far finish.

A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet matly with notes of roasted malt and light notes of coffee. The flavor is sweet malty and very roasted combined with notes of coffee, leading to a dry roasted, bitter, and burnt end.

Draught @ Elysian Fields. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee aroma. Roasted dark chocolate flavor with hints of coffee and some hints of bitter hops. Has a roasted malty finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Bottle. Nearly black, very thick bright tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate and string beans (I am not kidding). Taste is dark bitter cocoa, vanilla, black pepper. Nice.
