Nov 26, 2007 Black, dark brown around the edges. Rich, lightly sweet mocha. Finishes off with a plum fruitiness. I really liked this one. I was surprised by it, actually.

May 16, 2005 Oily black pour, thin creamy dark tan head. Nice aromas here of Starbucks coffee (Italian roast), bittersweet chocolate, mochachino, and toffee brittle, with light tones of smoke. Bittersweet chocolate citric tones and burnt coffee are prevalent as it warms, with light berry notes following through in the end. Lighter side of medium bodied and slick, light carbonation, bitter chocolate finish. Wish this was available in MD. Very nice...

Nov 18, 2006 A dark black appearance with a beige head. The aroma is roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate. The beer is quite bitter with loads of coffee flavor present. A medium body and a slightly oily mouthfeel. A nice one!

Apparence: La couleur est noire opaque. Présence d’un moyen col mousseux beige. Saveur: Goût de chocolat et de malt torréfié. Longue durée de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen. Nov 17, 2007 Dark, with rich chocolate cream head. I had forgotten how stalwart this stout was. Deep, dark noted, slightly bitter chocolate aroma and flavor, with some alcohol notes contributing complexity. Strong roasted and chocolate component throughout the experience. Excellent beer for a rainy day or to enjoy with chocolate.

Mar 20, 2008 Bottle. Black beer with a tan head. Light roast, light coffee, chocolate aroma. Sweet chocolate flavor with light roast and backing bitterness. Medium bodied. Nice balance. Lingering dark chocolate, malt, caramel, and light citrus bittering.

Oct 16, 2005 Black body, brown head. Roast, chocolate in the aroma with tart, dark red fruit. The flavor introduces stronger chocolate notes as well as some smokey wood. Rich, dry palate.

Nov 25, 2005 Nice looking pour being black in color with a totally retained dark tan colored head wit heavy lacing. Nice roasty sweet malty aroma. Flavor is sweet with some chocolate, some coffee, and a very enjoyable roastiness. Some nuts also. This is 7.2%? Enjoyable brew.
