4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
(Bottle) Pours black with a creamy brown head. The aroma holds cocoa, chocolate, asphalt, burned cookies, sweaty liquorice, black currant, black berries and oat alongside grassy, citric, woodsy, piny and light fruity hops. The flavour is light sweet, medium bitter and tiny acidic on the finish. Tones of perfect roasted malt and balanced hops alongside undertones dark berry jam and pineapple candy. The mouthfeel is round and silky with a soft carbonation. Smooth roast, juicy dark berries and yummy American hops on the finish. Medium o full bodied.

Bomber to taster (shared by Thuggins). Looks good; a fairly opaque dark brownish black with foamy beige head. Smells of dark malt and roast with a bit of bitterness from the hops. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Pours pitch black beer with a small, lacing, tanhead. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and dark breaddy notes. Sweet flavor that ends more dry and quite bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carb. An excellent impy.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black pour with reddish hue, thin mist of brown head. Lots of chocolate and dark fruits in the nose. Low carbonation, very creamy mouthfeel, finishes clean. Very malty, booze and tons of dark fruit, nearly grape juice-like, molasses as well. This is stellar, thinking it would be better aged to mellow it out.

The mouth feel is a little watery for my liking but the taste and aroma are creamy and full of coffee.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dare I say typical foreign stout, true to style? That’s a good thing. Very dark and clear, without much highlight, maybe a tinge of orange. Chocolaty, vanilla, floral nose. Very smooth and creamy and tingly, nice mouthfeel. Very dry finish. Full bodied. Very nice. From one stop.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black pour with huge frothy tan head, beautiful looking beer. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and faint vanilla. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, faint coffee, touch of caramel, rolled oats and soft hops. Full bodied, medium carbonation, soft creamy mouthfeel. A nice medium between a stout and an imperial stout, good beer!

Meh. this is really harsh and acrid with burnt meat, ash, some stale coffee and a bit of a hop bite. Idk this is lost on me.

This is a pretty old bottle, so hopefully I’ll get to try a fresh bottle some time, but this is still very tasty. It has a deep, dark chocolatey flavor with some mild coffee, a bit of cola, dark toast, damp earth, oatmeal, and roasted nuts. Malty sweetness is medium-light while the roasty bitterness is quite gentle, but has enough presence for suitable balance. Despite the age, it’s medium in weight, medium in carbonation, very slightly acidic, and just dry enough for solid drinkability. The intriguing nose is mostly dark chocolate, some coffee, a hint of black olive, but there’s a significant earthiness from the aging that contributes a suggestion of shitake mushroom. In the glass, the beer is an opaque, dark brown color with some transparency near the edge, and the tan head pours to half an inch before settling to a thin ring. Overall, this is a pretty solid stout, especially considering it’s several years old. Balanced, flavorful, and very enjoyable and easy to drink.
