mabel (1246), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 6, 2008 [1111-20080217] Tap @ Elysian Fields (Seattle, WA). Fruity twinged yeast aroma has a hint of cheddar cheese. Hazy, brown orange body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Cheddar notes continue in flavour along with toasted malt and strong bitter hops. Raspy medium body has a bit of a kick. Nice. (Funny rating number!)
JoeMcPhee (3614), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jun 29, 2008 Deep amber beer, white head. Aroma is very fresh and hoppy. Loaded with grapefruit, pine and tropical fruitiness. There is a bit of resinous bitterness on the back with just a hint of woodiness. Quite a nice pale ale, probably bordering on IPA territory, not that I’m complaining. hophead75 (1610), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Jun 26, 2008 On tap at the Blind Tiger. Lightly hazy orange in color with a small well retaining off white head with alot of sticky lace. Aroma: alot of tropical fruits, orange, and light mango/pineapple with toasted malts and caramel. Taste is alot of tropical fruits, with a nice toasted malt/caramel backbone. A nice moderate bitterness throughout. Very nice.
Dickinsonbeer (2457), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jun 25, 2008 Tap at blind tiger. One of the more solid beers of the night. Pours a nice clean looking light to medium bright orangey amber with a thin lasting head and nice lace. Aroma is nice and citrusy, tons of tropical fruits and nice nutty toasty maltiness. Flavor is clean and smooth- nice hop and malt balance, clean sweet caramel malts, some medium burnt toast, and nice citrus, torpical and grapefruit hops. Solid APA. bitbucket (1447), Kirkland, Washington, USA Jan 1, 2008 On tap at Elysian, Seattle. Pours clear lightish amber with a thin, off-white head.
