Oakes (10191) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 27, 2008
Densely sedimented. Yellow. Thick, creamy white head. Big sweet malt nose with light coriander, calamansi. Full-bodied, balanced between a lush marshmallowy sweetness and a subtle acidic bite of obscure citrus. Coriander is apparent but restrained. Hop spiciness in the finish makes a perfect accent. Well thought-out wit.

11/11/08 On draft at Elysian Fields, Seattle, Wa. Aroma is coriander forward with an orange candy background. Appearance is hazy yellow orange with a well maintained white head. Flavor is a bit yeasty for style, bit with a good spice bite, both from the orange and the coriander. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a substantial carb texture. Overall, quite good, but has some german hef yeast character.

Cloudy, milky, yellow-tan with righteous head. Coriander dominates flavor and aroma. Full coriander bouquet and piquant taste. Perhaps a tad sour/bitter orange peel. Full-bodied for the style.

Tap at Barcade: Cloudy light golden with a fizzy white film for head. Aroma is coriander and lemon, with a touch of wheat malt sharpness. Nice and bright. Fizzy body. Flavor is bright as well. Nice coriander presence and soft citrus notes. Has a touch of honey as well, making it reminiscent of honeysuckle. An easy going and well made Witbier.

after4ever (4500) - Brier, Washington, USA - JUN 16, 2008
Draft at Elysian Fields. Pours cloudy bright golden with a dense but shallow platinum blonde head. Minimal lace. Bright candied herbs on the nose, smells sweet and pungent. Creamy medium body, refreshing. Forward flavor of basil. Yeah. Basil. Not much else. After the rather monochromatic effort at herbs and spices, the flavors fall away to fairly well nothing and the finish is not much. Has a lot going for it in the way of appearance and mouthfeel. Needs some work on flavor and aromatics.
