3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This beer smells very good, nice scent of ginger. Appearance is a nice golden color. The taste is very overwhelmingly of ginger and leaves a strong ginger aftertaste. Not bad but not favorite.

0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Wow, where do I start with this one. Poured a bright yellow color with a white head. Aroma was straight lemon pledge and nothing else. Taste was the same but stronger and worse, with pilsner malt barely there. The most offputting thing I think ive ever drinken. Ginger and vomit.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rated two nights ago as part of our annual pumpkin beer night. Bomber. Pours cloudy yellow-orange with a collapsing white head. My first impression after smelling this thing was that I was smelling a Corona and lime. Then I came to my senses and realized it was the ginger. Taste is very ginger-forward (the most ginger I’ve ever had in a beer I think). Starts out sweet and spicy from the ginger before turning extremely bitter mid-palate. Mouthfeel is creamy. Very interesting and I’m glad I tried it, but it’s a try it once and never have again type of beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
golden with a smaller white head decent lacing... nice big ginger aroma, bold... flavor is very much ginger with a little spice underneath, followed by an abrupt finish pilsener style... medium thin body easy drinking except for the harshness of the ginger finish...

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bottle- Pours light hazy golden with a small ring of foam. The aroma is ginger, not getting much pumpkin, maybe a little. The taste is ginger again, there is a sweetness to it, kind of vegetal, but not all that pumpkin, imparts a dryness after the swallow. Overall have had better, was hoping for more pumpkin and less ginger, but I did still like it.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 24, 2012 On tap at Churchkey. Clear yellow pour with white head. Aroma is quite dominated by ginger, some pumpkin pie notes, cinnamon, hints of fresh grain. Taste is light and spicy, lots of cinnamon. Palate is light and moderately carbonated. Fun and original.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cloudy, squash-like gold, minimal cream colored head, faint filigree lacing. Fresh grated ginger root is the forward-most aspect here. This is real ginger, not a powdered addition, and it makes a huge difference. This boldness is strikingly balanced with warm chamomile, nutty squash, and appropriate (and thankfully restrained) ’pie’ spicing. The pumpkin, in addition to lending a slightly fuller mouthfeel, combines with the malt to create a rich backbone for all other aspects to shine forth from. Highly drinkable, never too weighty or viscous. The copious Saaz provides a very nice herbal bitterness to the lingering finish. In fact, it perfectly cuts through both the boldness of the ginger and the richness of the pumpkin. Refreshingly different from today’s standard ’pumpkin ale’. One more reason why I love great lagers.
So what do we have here? Wholesome/fresh ingredients, low abv (my bottle says 4.5), and an inspired twist on an old classic. Resulting in: A badass, folkloric lager ... showing fresh boldness in fantastic harmony with nuanced depth. Wish I could buy this bottled individually, instead of as a single inclusion only available in their "Pumpkin Patch" variety four-pack. Hey, Elysian ... tweak this basic pils recipe in another way ... use delicata squash and fresh sage ... please.

Draft. Cloudy yellow color, massive white head, solid lacing. Aroma of ginger is detectable from across the room. Taste is heavy ginger, lemon, dust. Rough stuff.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap, murky straw pour, not much head or lace to note.Tons of ginger, not much pumpkin, tons of spice, and weird notes. All I get out of this is ginger. Pilsners have zero flavor to begin with so this one was no different with zero pumpkin coming through.

Definitely did not expect such a blast of ginger. All this beer was missing was some wasabi and soy sauce. Not sure pumpkin is in the title at all, as it was undetectable. I do like how flavorful this beer is, I just don't care for the flavor.
