COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed at our stadium location Elysian Fields brewery in Seattle. Brewed with organic pale, Weyermann Munich and Cara-Hell malts, with pumpkin added in the mash, kettle and fermenter. Spiced with peeled and pureed fresh ginger in the boil and bright tank and hopped with lots of Czech Saaz hops (otherwise it wouldnít be traditional).

Tap at the Blind Tiger for Elysianís Pumpkin Beer night. Spicy hop and spicy pumpkin pie nose. Very clean and squashy. Lively, smooth, spicy flavor, with a refreshing, grainy finish. Good stuff.

Draft @ Elysian Tangletown. Pours a bright, clear golden-orange color; thin white head with fine-bubbled lacing. Basic candy sugar and light spicing in the aroma; sweet, with minimal pumpkin. Lively carbonation. Medium mouthfeel: lots of ginger (reasonably soft), candy sugar, and light pumpkin spicing; a touch astringent and medicinal, but also nicely dry; basic candy sugar maltiness. Medium finish: sugar, lingering slightly-rough spicing with ginger and allspice at the end.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of heavy ginger, toast, and light citrus. Flavor of strong spicy ginger, pale malts, citrus and was lightly bitter. A ginger bomb

This beer really grew on me. I hated it at first, then as I drank it the more flavors started coming out. Aroma was weak and a little broing. Light pilsner malt was all that I could detect. Pour was a nice hazy light yellow with a one finger white head. Taste was delicious. One of the better session beers Iíve had in a while. Starts with the sweet pilsner malt in the beginning which quickly gives way to spicy ginger. The ginger dominates the flavor until the hops kick in and bring the gulp to a bitter finish. The aftertaste is a mix of bitter noble hops and ginger. No pumpkin is detected. The mouth is actually left tingly from the ginger and heavy carbonation. Great surprise!

Tap at Blind Tiger: Pours a pale golden with a collapsing white head. Has a fresh aroma- lots of fresh ginger, with an underlying lemon zest and peppery saaz notes. The body is light and crisp. The fore flavor is a solid punch of fresh ginger- very fresh and natural. The spiciness is followed by a quick biscuity base and a late flowery note. The finish is peppery with saaz dryness. I love that they incorporated the spices with a Pilsner. Interesting and solid.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a white head. The aroma has some orange and ginger along with bread. Taste has a lot of ginger and a bit of pepper. The pumpkin is subdued.

Pours a hazy, bright golden orange color with golden straw colored edges and a 1.5 finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind. Spicy, slightly earthy aroma that smells more like a pilsner than a pumpkin beer. The ginger is very prominent however with a strong peppery presence that is nicely complimented by the grassy hop notes. As it warms, the pumpkin presence becomes more apparent but itís still subtle, taking a back seat to the ginger, hops and sweet malt. Fuller bodied than expected with peppery ginger spice up front followed by earthy, grassy hops, sweet malt, pumpkin, and biscuit. The spicy ginger and floral hop flavors go really well together, providing a refreshing and unique take on the style. Underneath, there is a sweet caramel malt backbone with some biscuit, autumnal spice and sweet pumpkin. Similarly to the aroma, the pumpkin flavor is subtle but comes more to the forefront as it warms. Complex and full bodied yet refreshing and and easy to drink. This unique take on the style could have been a disaster but Iím pretty impressed with this beer.

Draft @ blind tiger. Lighter amber. A pretty nice blend of pumpkin and pils. Not a lot to say other than that.
