COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed at our stadium location Elysian Fields brewery in Seattle. Brewed with organic pale, Weyermann Munich and Cara-Hell malts, with pumpkin added in the mash, kettle and fermenter. Spiced with peeled and pureed fresh ginger in the boil and bright tank and hopped with lots of Czech Saaz hops (otherwise it wouldnít be traditional).

22oz bottle courtesy of a friend in Seattle. Slightly cloudy melon orange. Thin head of big and tiny white bubbles that mix in a creamy layer. Bright ginger aroma with hints of raw pumpkin. Flavors of strong ginger spiciness that has the same effect as crisp hops (which are also present) - cleaning the palate. Light sweetness in the finish. Really interesting and tasty. This beer wows me because it is very different and also of very high quality. Iím also excited any time I find a beer with this much flavor and sub 5% alcohol. Very impressive product.

Rated two nights ago as part of our annual pumpkin beer night. Bomber. Pours cloudy yellow-orange with a collapsing white head. My first impression after smelling this thing was that I was smelling a Corona and lime. Then I came to my senses and realized it was the ginger. Taste is very ginger-forward (the most ginger Iíve ever had in a beer I think). Starts out sweet and spicy from the ginger before turning extremely bitter mid-palate. Mouthfeel is creamy. Very interesting and Iím glad I tried it, but itís a try it once and never have again type of beer.

Real hazy. Harsh, dry, fibrous and woody nose. Some sweet, bright tingles, super hot and fresh ginger flavour. This COULD be the best HOTDog ever. Medicinal. Oops. I forgot that this was a pumpkin beer. Ginger pilsner maybe...

22 oz. bottle- Pours light hazy golden with a small ring of foam. The aroma is ginger, not getting much pumpkin, maybe a little. The taste is ginger again, there is a sweetness to it, kind of vegetal, but not all that pumpkin, imparts a dryness after the swallow. Overall have had better, was hoping for more pumpkin and less ginger, but I did still like it.

Tap at Blind Tiger. A solid pilsner with a strong emphasis on the pumpkin. Enough said.

I like ginger. But this beer is unbalanced, far too heavily weighted in ginger. There's some pumpkin trying to come through, but it keeps getting squashed by the ginger. C+ ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

THOUGHTS: Holy Cow! That was a ton of ginger. Both in flavor and aroma. Maybe not the best pumpkin beer around, and maybe not even a good pumpkin beer, but it was a wonderful beer if you love ginger. It was a little too much ginger for me, but only by a little. The spicy hops blended wonderfully with the ginger. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a hazy, light, dirty, yellow that wound up looking like it had a lightly green tint. It also had a large, ever-so-slightly, off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma was fresh and clean and contained ginger, and mostly ginger ó almost perfume like, but slightly soapy, too. The initial flavor was slightly sweet and lightly bitter; while the finish was lightly sweet and moderately bitter with an average duration. There was a little pale malt, mostly ginger, some spicy hops that blended right into the ginger, and slightly sour pumpkin when warmer. The light body was somewhat dry and hot on the tongue with sort of soft but tingly carbonation and a dry and sort of metallic finish with heat from the spices.

Tap at Green Dragon. More ginger than any beer Iíve had...including ginger beers. Spicy and yummy.
