3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Agree with the last rater that said that this was less nelson than many of the Nelson Sauvin hop driven beers that I’ve had recently. Probably a bit too old I guess. I couldn’t find a bottled on date. Good IPA none the less. Although it didn’t stand up to the Pliny that we had. Unfair comparison I guess ;) Tropical fruit with some grapefruit. Good beer. Hops needs to be a bit fresher and more lively. Nice spice element. Good complexity. Cool label and name.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours amber orange copper in color somewhat clear with a decent off white head. The flavor of the Nelson Sauvin hops come in a little more subtle than I would like, probably because it is a few months old. It is still somewhat unique as usual for those Nelson hops, in a good lightly bitter hoppy way. The aroma seems to have gotten last a bit as well, but I get some nice unique tropical fruitiness and a hint of bitterness, both from the hops.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle. Hazy orange/amber with a thick, dense off white head that leaves lots of lacing. Aroma is all Nelson, lots of grape juice and light tropical fruit, there is also a bit of sweet bubble gum in the scent. Flavor is firmly bitter upfront with a mild caramel malt sweetness for balance. Medium body with average carbonation and a dryish mouth feel. This is a very nice IPA that showcases the Nelson hop, really like this one.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz. from PCC Fremont. Smells a little like spicy urine. Hops are way too sticky. Once the beer’s in that’s all there is to taste and once it’s gone that’s all there is left. Not terribly balanced but it’ll do.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Probably the most "refined " beer that I have had over the past two years.
This is the real deal, the final product
Very refined. You would think that they have been brewing this for centuries.
Passion fruit in an IPA? Brilliant! Only New Zealand hops? Home run!
At the end of 2012, this might be the best beer that I have had all year.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap @ Specific Gravity, Salisbury Md-Copper pour w/a moderate tan head. Citrus hop aroma. Flavors of citrus hop/Grapefruit, tar/pitch/pine, kind of one dementional. OK, but not great in my opinion, somewhat of a hopbomb. Long finish.

Clear copper. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, citrus, resin, and a bit of malt. Medium bodied. Flavor is much the same. Sweet malts, pine, citrus, light grapefruit. Enjoyable. My first go around With the Nelson Sauvin hop. Quite nice.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
650 ml. bottle. Pours a lasting off white head, with extensive lacing, over a clear, with an occasional floater, amber (SRM 10) body.....nose is citrus, melon, light toffee/caramel, hints of pineapple...taste is citrus, melon, light peach, green grapes, toffee/caramel, finishing with a medium, lingering bitter, pine tinged, bite....mouth feel medium, slightly sticky, carbonation adds a pleasant belch. This is obviously an IPA with the complex hops back bone and the lingering medium bitterness. It is different from many an IPA in that the Nelson Sauvin adds a complex fruitiness in both aroma and flavor, but still has the lingering cleansing bitterness. This is an interesting, successful, hop experiment from an adventuresome brewery. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7
