3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
March 16, 2012 - on draught at Cole’s. Slightly hazy amber-gold with a decent creamy off-white head, nice lacing. Smells fantastic - catty, no sweetness, only a bit of alcohol - really smells like fresh cut marijuana buds - pungent and sticky (8+). Taste follows, but it is a bit sweet, gluten-y grain more than sticky ick - a bit more alcohol presence too, but the aroma kicks the flavour’s butt. Average body, decent carbonation, quite astringent and a long pungent catty finish - really grabs the palate.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber @ OT. Pours clear pale amber with a creamy offwhite head that slowly dissipates while leaving some sticky lacing on the glass. Smell is slightly sweet, slightly malty and slightly hoppy with white bread, caramel, green grapes, moist grass, white grapes, red currants and hints of vanilla fudge and alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, tiny fruity and herbal with bread, moist grass, white grapes, lemon balm, wood, gooseberries, moist wood, unripe mango and hints of caramel, wet leaves and pine. Mouthfeel is smooth, round and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and herbal with moist grass, wood, pine, green grapes, gooseberries and lemon balm. Possibly a bit unfresh but still holds up well.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle, thanks to parents. Poured in snifter. Interesting hop flavor - resin, tropical fruit, orange, pineapple. Seemingly big malt present, but it works well with the hops. and is less caramelish than usual - maybe bready, some pepperiness. Some grapefruit in the aftertaste. Super smooth carbonation. More dry texture. Very easy to drink, great to wash a sandwich down with. Medium body, totally hazy amber color. Off-white khaki head that leaves great lace all around. Great bigger bitter taste, little sweetness in the finish. Very enjoyable, interesting, and sessionable single-hop IPA. My first showcase of the NZ Nelson Sauvin. Love getting educated.

Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, orange peel, blood orange, red fruit and a generous resiny bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and solid IPA with a fresh hop profile.Very nice.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
In short: A clean, semi-sweet and very fruity golden IPA. Good.
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed fresh a few weeks after purchase, bottle forwarded to me by mcberko, thanks a lot Matt
The look: Clear golden body topped by a medium beige head leaving good lacings on the glass
In long: Nose is dominated by fruity hops that focus on tropical fruits such as mangos, pineapples but also peaches and other juicy fruits of the kind. Taste has all the same juicy fruit hops as in the aroma and they are all layered over a backbone of semi-sweet cookies. The resinous nature of the extra-fruity hops bring a sensation of fruit juice concentrate. Solid bitterness. Sweet at first, resinous fruity hops in the finish, overall well balanced. Another bomber that went down in record time… and the real downside of drinking so much beer every night is I have a lot less beer the day after.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Thanks to curly for the trade! Cloudy orange, loose white head. Smells - no kidding - like grapefruit juice. Clean, crisp citrus flavors, with some piney, resiny flavors as it warms. Just enough malt flavors to keep it interesting. Very good stuff

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had to try this, since I’m such a fan of this hop - clear copper, sudsy lace - there is a light sweetness and tea-like character in the nose, but the zesty and tropical notes of the hops are most prominent - medium carbonation - flavor has a light, clean sweetness up front, but it is mostly dry throughout, especially in the finish - the malt backbone mostly stays out of the way, but provide a sturdy base for the potent, peppery/spicy hop flavors - quite bitter, but not in any way abrasive - finish is very dry - very solid IPA.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy copper coloured body with an orange glow and a thick, two centimetre tall off-white head - nice. Aroma of peaches, bright grapefruity hops and yes, the best smell of all, passionfruit. Medium-bodied; Strong herbal and slightly grapefruity hops at first gives way to a good malt backbone showing some depth and then a mild hop bitterness at the end. Aftertaste isn’t too complex with only a handful of light fruit flavours capturing anything more from the light herbal hop notes and the mild malt. Overall, a good IPA, but nothing more and nothing less - doesn’t really compare to some of the best IPAs, but its definitely drinkable. Whether or not its worth searching out for, is up to you, but I wouldn’t really look for this one at all if I knew better - there are far too many IPAs better than this one. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 09-June-2012 for US$7.25 sampled at home in Washington on 01-September-2012.
