COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Savant IPA :: Savant Just Knows Itís a Great Beer.

Without knowing quite why, Savant IPA knows a lot. It knows that itís built on Northwest 2-row malt, with touches of Munich, Cara-red and C-120 Crystal. It knows that it weighs in at around 6.3% alcohol by volume, that itís bittered with Northwest Chinook and finished with fruit-juicy New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hops. It knows that itíll be back as the first Manic IPA from Elysian Brewing in the new year of 2014, available in 22-ounce bottles and on draft. It knows that 22 ounces is the same as a touch over 650 milliliters (and 13012 drops for anyone whoís counting), but what it mainly knows is that itís a great beer.

(22oz bottle) Pours a hazy golden orange body with a small white head. Aroma of grain, florals, dusty, and wet dried grass/weeds. Flavor of florals, earth, grass, and dank with a dry, bitter, and quite dirty finish.

UXO (588) - CANADA - MAR 26, 2015
Pours clear pale amber with three fingers of pillowy light beige head, excellent retention and lacing. (4/5) Nose is pineapple, grapefruit, caramel, malt, mild floral and pine. (7/10) Taste is moderate sweet, moderately strong bitter. (7/10) Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, lingering and building bitter finish. (4/5) A middle of the pack effort for Elysian: Better than Loser, similar to Superfuzz, not as good as Space Dust or Avatar Jasmine. (And, holy hell, how many Elysian IPAís have I tried?) A solid, pleasant hop-forward IPA with a nice amount of bitterness. (15/20)

Cloudy orange pour. Sharp hop bitterness in nose. Very sharp bitterness I am assuming from high AA in the nelson. Bitterness lingers.

Murky orange pour. Thin, off white head with very little carbonation. Hoppy taste on the front and back in. Good example of the style.

Dark golden color for an ipa, bitter with nice fruit from Nelson hops, subtle aroma at least for me

22 oz bottle. Aroma: citrusy and malty, with hints of pineapple, bread, and barnyard. Taste/Palate: creamy; starts sweet, and finishes with a long bitterness.

A good IPA, but not a great one. Has nice citrus hop flavours and a beautiful pour, but I enjoyed most of Elysianís other IPAs more.

A nice fruity IPA with tons of complex fresh hop flavor. Pours a slightly reddy golden orange with a thin white head. Peppery and spicy hops with a bit of floral flavour. A nice full flavored hopped up brew.

Bookseeb (125) - Wenatchee, Washington, USA - FEB 4, 2015
Appearance is a cloudy orange amber color supporting a healthy head leaving nice lace. Smell has a nice backbone of sweet malt and citrusy hop aroma. Taste of the sweet malt and big on the grapefruit flavor with a nice balance of hops. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. A very nice easy drinking IPA.

Draft - Bold citrus and pine hops. Clear copper with a decent white head. Bitter pine, citrus peel and a bit of caramel. Long bitter finish.
