draft at Blue Monk, smoke dominated brew. Really hard to gather anything past smoke/peat. Pumpkin presence....not sure. If you like smoked/rauch this is beer for you. Interesting beer , well made but smoke seems too dominate

Tap at Elysian Fields, Seattle - 09/11/12.
Clear mid amber with a thin off white.
Nose is big on rausch, ripe fruits, hint of caramel but smoke dominates.
Tastes of medicinal tones, rope fleshy fruits, big smokey hit, a little sweet fruit coming through.
Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a smokey finish.
Quite enjoyable!

Tap @ Elysian’s GPBF 2012... Poured dark amberish-brown with an off-white head. I love pumpkin beer and a love smoked beers. What a nice marriage here. Smoke up front on both the nose and the palate. Hints of sweetness from malt and squash. Charred grains, campfire smoke, and earthiness in there.

This one pours a gorgeous dark crystal amber body with a creamy top. Smoked jerky nose that is likewise expressed on the palate. Cozy smoked meat flavor, but it never becomes too much. This is an excellent rauchbier. My main criticism is that this brew is devoid of pumpkin character.

From a tap at capital hill location, dark amber in color, smoked meat and pumpkin in flavor, the smoke flavor is not so powerful where it covers up and its pretty good.

Tap. Thinner off-white head on a hazy dark brownish copper. Lots of beechwood smoke, some slight bacon, sobdued maltiness, and fairly straightforward aromas along those lines. Smokiness continues through the flavor, but not as overpowering as in the aroma, with some slight toffee and allspice in the finish. Touch of toast as well in the finish. Medium body with subtle carbonation. I take this is a smoke brew, and decent one at that.
