3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 aaron_bossart (33) - Idaho, USA - AUG 11, 2012
Very hoppy. Nothing "special". It had a light palate with not much of a head. It poors a nice copper brown.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 JDBaker11058 (922) - Maryland, USA - AUG 6, 2012
Appearance: paque caramel brown, with two fingers of off-white, frothy head that lingered, leaving rich lace. Aroma: graham crackers, grass, and citrus hops. Taste: caramel, toasty brown bread, with a solid dose of grassy, earthy hops. Finish: slowly fading flavors in balance. Notes: Not bad; pretty darn average. Frankly, reminded me very much of a batch of beer I brewed with some friends at a brewery in NoVa. Either this was not as good as it should have been, or ours was way better than we thought.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ron (1988) - Rochester, New York, USA - AUG 1, 2012
Bottle. Pours a light amber brown with medium white head that disappears, but with nice lacing. Grassy hops in the aroma. Flavor is light in malts, but has a nice subtle hop finish that is not too bitter, which I like. Better than I thought it would be.
3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Travlr (7984) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUL 28, 2012
Great name. Bottle. Hazy deep golden amber color, small tan head. Aroma of caramel, subtle butterscotch, light spice. Taste is full bodied bitter caramel. Decent.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Avatar (83) - Gliwice, POLAND - JUL 26, 2012
Very glad to find this beer in Taipei, the only one they had in the bar. I didn’t expect much, so it was very nice suprise. Good amount of bitterness, refreshing, with hoppy aftertaste. Great, amber body, white head.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 cblado (221) - Washington, USA - JUL 24, 2012
12 oz bottle. Pours a clear copper color. Thick off-white head, great lacing. Aroma is sweet malt and toffee. Flavor is fantastic, very crisp, yet malty. The hops come mainly in the aftertaste, which is refreshing. Overall I would definitely get this again.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hayduke (2933) - Eureka, California, USA - JUL 22, 2012
This came from Paul’s Market in McCall, Idaho. The label has changed as this one has "Corporate Beer Still Suck LOSER" across the bottle diagonally. Pours an attractive orange amber color with a huge beige head and really thick lacing. The nose is caramel malts and ripe stone fruits. Medium in body were a very foamy carbonation and slick mouthfeel and lots of resin. Flavor is a mixture of floral, citrus, and pine hops on a solid lightly roasted malt body. There is bitterness all the way into the finish. This seems really solid to me and very easy drinking.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 luttonm (1629) - Belgrade, SERBIA - JUL 18, 2012
Draft. Bigger, heavier caramel malted IPA. Robust sweet backbone with some nice hop additions that balance this out into a totally likeble and sessionable beer. Some sour notes from the malting that were off for me, Tasty enough
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 ShantyBrewery (14) - - JUL 16, 2012
UPDATED: JUL 17, 2012 Poured from a bottle into a nonic pint glass. This is branded as a pale ale, but at 7% ABV and a high IBU, this is an IPA. Pours cloudy, copper. Little head quickly fades. Aroma is quite hoppy, though muted and not bright. Some citrus, piney (definitely American hops), some caramel sweetness, a little malty, some alcohol. Mouth feel is heavy. Not much carbonation. Flavor up front is orange/citrus and a little piney, with some thick caramel sweetness. Midway through there is some light maltiness/breadiness. In the back there is substantial hop bitterness - not pleasant, but a dark/muddy hop bitterness that lingers for a couple minutes. Tastes like an lesser hoppy east coast IPA. Nothing special. I have no need to drink this again.
