A nice, fairly straightforward simple red. Mildly toasty up front on the malts, with a generous and subtle bitter hop note towards the end. Slight hints of citrus and bread throughout. I’d thought they had made this before for the Men’s Room on the Hill...apparently mistaken.

Tap @ Elysian Brewpub on Capitol Hill... Poured amber, dark orange with a beige head. Lots of carbonation, fizzy, foamy mouthfeel. Lots of hops flavors with a creamy, malt sweetness. Notes of toast, grains, and a light berry fruitiness that lent to a crisp finish.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 after4ever (5294) - Brier, Washington, USA - JUL 18, 2010
Draft at Elysian Fields. Pours a cloudy medium amber with a dense and slightly frothy off white head. Toast and iced tea on the nose...a little too close to the iced tea side of that equation, in fact. Creamy medium body with indistinct toast, biscuit, light caramel, and lots of iced tea on the mid-palate. Lightly acetic and slightly tea-bitter finish. There are some Elysian beers that make me want to follow the crystal malt futures market because they can really churn through the stuff when they put their minds to it.
