Clear amber color, good steady off-white head, lace. Aroma of Cascade - fruity and citrusy and also crystal/caramel malts. Medium-bodied. Caramelly, crystal malty, dry mouthfeel. Light woody hoppyness. Basic Irish Red.

Pours hazed orange with a frothy beige head that laces well. Aroma of toasted malt and citrus. Taste has a nice floral and citrus hop with mild bitterness and good sweet malt balance. Pretty good, better than expected.

draft at Coles in Buffalo, NY. medium copper/amber pour. inital hop aroma thats quickly followed by a rich caramel malt presence. flavor is malt dominated with a citrusy hop underlaying flavor. decent APA

Bomber from Dillon Ridge Liquors in Dillon, Colorado. Clear copper pour with a huge dense white head that lasts forever (literally, for-ev-er) and laces heavily -- maybe itís the altitude? Aroma is faint caramel malt, probably crushed by the foamy cap. Flavor is as expected for an amber/alt, so Iím not quite sure why this is categorized as an APA. Not too hoppy, just a good solid malt backbone and enough bitterness to balance everything out.

On tap at Coleís. Significant hoppiness, a nice red. Hoppy aroma. Light red tinge and some lace. Some caramel sweetness, a good malt backbone. Toasted malt finish. Good drinkability.

On tap in Port Townsend. I donít have much to say about this. Itís certainly drinkable, but thereís really nothing to it. A pretty boring beer.

650 ml. bottle. Pours an ivory, lasting head, with some lacing, over a clear (between the floaters) light amber (SRM 7) body......nose is light cereal, toffee/caramel, very light pine and citrus.....taste is light toffee/caramel, cereal, finishing with a light pine, grapefruit tinged bitterness....mouth feel medium, carbonation also. Although the brewery calls this an "Original Red", it has many of the characteristics of an APA. The beer is nicely balanced between malt and hops, is easy to drink, and has just enough character to be interesting. BJCP 7/3/13/4/7

Bomber. Not sure about this as a Pale Ale- more an amber to me. Pours a cloudy brown/red color with a small white head. The aroma is sweet caramel and nutty notes. Not getting many hops here, light pine. Smooth and very sessionable.

BottleÖ Clear orange ale with a small, creamy, fat-bubbled, white head. Good retention. The nose is of deeply musky and deeply earthy hops with only hints of honey and toffee. Full-bodied with soft carbonation. Unlike the aroma, the flavor furnishes enough sweet malt to overwhelm a very subtle hop bill Ė lots of toffee here. Finishes sweet with minimal bitterness.
