Pours a nice clear amber color with a slightly off white head that leaves behind rings of lacing. Slight hop aroma but everything else is a bit muted. Taste has the aforementioned hint of hops. Donít get much else. So so beer.

"Nicely balanced caramel and fruity malt with lightly critic and tart fruity hops. I donít think the bottle I had was terribly fresh, and this was still pretty nice for an amber/pale. Iíd get again."

At brewery bar. Pours reddy amber with a white head. Very little aroma. Light body, medium carbonation. A little wood, caramel, orange... Thin and pretty dull all in all.

Burnt orange/copper colour with a slightly off white head. Big upfront scent of citrus and sweet toffee. Tastes a bit light on for a red, but then, it Is only a 5.6% which is a little less than the style usually produces. Iím tasting a slight hint of citrus hops but none of the promised-from-the-scent toffee. Smooth finish but a little less dense than Iíd have hoped for. Mild carbonation and some slight bitter end.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with some light brown edges glowing. The head was about a fingerís worth of white foaminess that dissipated within less than a minute. There was some light speckled lacing. The smell had a fair amount of caramel malts over coating the citrus hops. The taste was mainly balanced between the caramel malts and citrus hops - nice sweet to bitter quality going on. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat subdued but trying to show a gentle harshness. Overall, not a bad beer just not a spectacular one, just one to have when itís available.

An aroma of malt and sour dough. Copper colored not much head. Watery feel with a taste of malt with a malt after taste.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance Ė The beer pours a deep red-amber color with thick billowy head of just off white foam. The head has a fantastic level of retention, very slowly fading to leave a good level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell Ė The aroma of the beer is quite massive of a caramel and toffee smell mixed with some lightly toasted malt aromas. Along with these smells comes some lighter earthy and herbal hop aromas, giving a nice balance to the sweet and overall producing a very inviting aroma. Taste Ė The taste begins much drier then would have been anticipated from the nose with a somewhat direr, lightly roasted bready flavor. There is just a hint of caramel sweetness upfront, which ends up fading quite quickly from the tongue, but is replaced by a light fruit flavor of a pear and apple. These fruit flavors are quite light however and are quickly overshadowed by some hop flavors coming to the tongue. Hop flavors of a pine, grass and earth all come at the middle of the taste, and are joined by a light floral hop taste at the very end. With all the hop flavors that come to the tongue, the low lying sweet flavors, and the consistent toasted bready flavor, one is left with a more dank hopped bready flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel Ė The body of the beer is on the thicker and creamier side for a brew of only 5.6 % abv with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. The thicker body and lower carbonation create a rather creamy feel for the brew, really accentuating the dank hoppy flavors. Overall Ė A fairly hoppy and drier red with a more dank and musty hop profile. While not super refreshing, it is one that I did enjoy and would be one I would go to from time to time when in the mood for something a little danker hopped and yet still rather more moderate in abv.

Big on the ol PNW hops. Not a ton happening here, just big toffee and hops. Decent.

Bottle from BrewDog online. It pours reddish-amber with a small white head. The nose is pine, red apple, toffee and fruit cake. The taste is bitter-sweet, pine, toast, varnish, red apple, brown bread and peppery grapefruit with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and prickly carbonation. A touchy watery perhaps. Ok.
