Bottle. Pours an opaque gold with small off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts and lemons. Flavor is perfectly well-balanced between the sweet malts and the citrus hops. Slight bitterness in the finish. One of the best beers I’ve ever had!
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 poisoneddwarf (1303) - Rathdrum, Idaho, USA - JUL 28, 2011
Bomber into Sam Adams lager glass. Bought at Fred Meyer in CDA, ID. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a medium light-beige head with great retention (dang, all the Elysian beers I’ve had recently give great head); leaves a resilient blanket of foam and some lace. Aroma is cinnamon toast, citrus. Taste is bittersweet, grainy. Nice and balanced. Highly carbonated with a medium body. Tasty.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours copper with a foamy 3 finger off-white head. Which creamily rings. Fresh roast caramel/malt - fresh being the impression of smelling a cut plant of some kind - very interesting. Medium body with carbonation going from creamy to frothy. It’s very bitter. That’s a good thing. This bottle is not any maltier than a typical APA and more bitter than many. With time the bitter could be called floral. Hard to pin down. A very nice drink.

Tap. More dark amber than red. Nice head. Sweet malt and light hop scent. Hop forward taste on strong malt. Caramel comes through in nice balance with the hops.
