4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 puzzl (3093) - New York, USA - OCT 21, 2009
Tap at the Blind Tiger. Best event of the year, when Elysian rolls into town and puts on 6 or 7 fantastic, imaginative pumpkin beers. This was the start of an awesome night. Burnt red pour. Squashy, pumpkin nose, with a light acidity, showcasing the veggie itself and not some cruddy spices that are supposed to be reminiscent of pumpkin. DFH, I’m looking at you. The body has a balanced, green grape acidity with mild pumpkin in the finish. Very sessionable. An excellent sour, and one that could go year-round despite the seasonal addition.

Pours orange with little head. Smell is sweet, tart, sugary. Taste is mild, a bit hoppy, a bit like orange juice. It’s decent, but I had no idea it was a pumpkin sour until I saw the listing on here, there’s nothing about it that screamed pumpkin to me except maybe the color.

(Draught) Pours a cloudy orange body with a small white head. Aroma of pumpkin, sour fruit, caramel, some garbage can, and spices. Flavor of pumpkin, light citrus, and grain.

On tap at the Falling Rock Tap House during GABF.
Aroma: hints of sour/ wild yeast, cherry, spices, pumpkin
Taste: pumpkin and spices, bread malts, cherry, funk
Elysian does pumpkin beers well. I am glad to have had the chance to try this. It may be young for a sour.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BMan1113VR (6531) - Los Angeles, California, USA - NOV 1, 2011
On tap at Falling Rock. Pours with a minimal head over a hazed orange hued body. Aromas are fruity, estery, lightly spicy, grainy and funky. FLavors are lightly sour, cherios (young sour character). Grainy. Medium to light bubbles, cleanly lactic, dry. Seems young.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Sammy (6129) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 26, 2011
On tap at The Blue Tusk. WIld strong aromas, traditional pumpkin beer tastes are there in the secondary. Sweaty spit taste. Wildest pumpkin beer ever had.No head on light brown body.

Tap @ Elysian’s Great Pumpkin Beer Fest... Poured orange with a white head. One of my favorites from the fest. Brett, horse blanket and funk forward for sure. Especially on the nose. Bready with pumpkin squash in the flavor with a drying yeast finish.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beershine (4754) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - OCT 9, 2011
Draft @ Falling Rock Elysian pumpkin fest ’11. Mainly flat and hazy. Aroma of toasted granola, and pumpkin nut crunch cereal. Mild, light carbonation. Is light on the tongue. Astringent finish is resinous. Not sour. Is quite mild, really. Actually there are some lactic tones, but it’s not really sour. It’s more in the nutty pocket with some raw, soaked almond flavors. Is a little disappointing in the lack of depth and body but still pretty good.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 crackedmachine (303) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 8, 2011
On tap at GPBF. Not especially sour. More of a bacterial funk, with elements of earth, dirt, and yeast alongside a mild pumpkin flavor. Not bogged down with the pumpkin pie spice that overwhelms so many pumpkin ales.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Oakes (10196) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 4, 2011
Cloudy, tan. Acids on the aroma. Pumpkin, spice and a mild tartness define this beer. An odd duck, and not really one that I would want to drink.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 arminjewell (3116) - Parker, Colorado, USA - OCT 3, 2011
On tap at Falling Rock, nice orange pour with fluffy white head, aroma has notes of pumpkin puree, toffee, some nice spice, soft tart and funk notes in there as well. Taste was a nice balance of pumpkin flesh, spice, some slight lemon tart and some funk in there, touch of sweet toffee, finished slight tart and dry. Really enjoyed this one.
