Something off for me here with a ginger and vomit-like aroma that was off putting.
Flavour was a bit thin with spice and light ale flavour.
I think I preferred Phillip’s Crooked Tooth offering. bhensonb (4248), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 2, 2007 Aroma of squash and pumpkin pie spice. Hazy, reddish, amber color with a white head that ringed immediately. The body is medium and the carbonation is mild. The flavor is nutmeg, clove, and ... It actually has mince pie flavors. Course that’s it. The finish is thinnish, and with less flavor than the start. But that mince aroma persists (didn’t get it at the start), the flavors tickle the palate, and it’s a very refreshing departure from mundane world (forgive the reduncacy). It’s really quite nice. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2007 Fun beer. I don’t take these to seriously. Only criticism is a sort of weak/thin palate. More body and a tad more flavor would do wonders for this one. Still, though it was good and enjoyable. Glad I tried it. DirtyMartini (194), Los Angeles, Alabama, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 26, 2007 one of the better pumpkin ales out there. a little darker in color than many of the pumpkin beers, but that extra color likely came from the extra pumpkin that was actually used brewing it as well as the brown sugar im assuming they used, as i get a strong flavor of it. nicely spiced...subtle, letting the sugary pumpkin take the forefront...but enough to know it was there SuzyGreenberg (1337), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 13, 2007 22 oz. bottle - clear and light brown upon pouring with slight head; rich sugary aromas lead to a mild, but pleasant pumpkin flavor with very little spice BuckeyeBoy (1654), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 5, 2007 On tap at Elysian Brewing Seattle, pours out a amber topped with a cream head. A pretty sweet pumpkin spice aroma. Light hops and some sweet spices. Maybe a little cinnamon and nutmeg. greenhorn1 (460), Mission Viejo, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 4, 2007 22 oz bottle. Pours a dark hazy orange. Big spice aroma, mainly cinnamon and allspice. Flavor is full of spice and a nice pumpkin flavor, yet there is a decent malt base. Crisp dry finish. Not my favorite style of beer, however, it was easily drinkable.
