Bottle. Really nice pumpkin spice aroma, not quite delivered in the flavour. Lighter body with a decent pumpkin and spice flavour. Not incredible.

Bottle.
Glass: Carton teku glass.
Appearance: Hazy amber body with a milky brightness through the light. The head is short and short lived, leaving a thin off-tan coating.
Aroma: The aroma is bright of graham cracker and cinnamon, with a dash of ginger. A slightly tart apple aroma backs this. Fragrant and enjoyable, mildly sweet.
Taste: The flavor is prominent with spices, nutmeg notably with ginger underlying it. Cinnamon is mild towards the end with an uncooked pumpkin and apple flavor. Like biting into a crisp red apple with some cinnamon and sugar on it. Not bad, but not pumpkin tasting to me, not in a huge way anyway. More like a mild apple pie ale.
Palate: Medium bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: More of a cinnamon apple flavor throughout, not the most enjoyable taste but it smells nice and drinks okay. I’d recommend it, but not a six pack worth.

First pumpkin ale of the season! Sampled at Elysian Brewery in Capitol Hill in Seattle. Gorgeous orange look, little haze. Strong nutmeg aroma, overpowers anything subtler. Toasted dark coffee notes hit at the start, cinnamon and spices take over as sips progress.

Bottle served in a pint glass. Pours dark orange with minimal head. Nose is heavy with clove, cinnamon and other spices. Malty pumpkin attack. Medium body, average carbonation, and a spiced finish.

Bottle. Pours copper/orange. Thin white head that dissipate quickly. The aroma is nice. Pumpkin pie spices with a hint of citrus. Taste is nutmeg dominated. Not unpleasant, but high in the spice addition. Slight caramel flavor. Thin mouth feel. Overall a decent attempt at a fall beer. Would wonder if aging this beer could improve it.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2014 12 oz bottle from Whole Foods Market in Hillsboro, OR. Initial nose has strong gingerbread and fall baking spices. Mouthfeel is crisp and smooth, but surprisingly watery and thin, contrary to expectations from the appearance and aroma. Spices and mild sweetness are both present from front to finish and briefly in the aftertaste. Finish is slightly astringent (likely from the spices), and the subdued hops make a mild a short bitter appearance. I enjoyed the spice flavor and the sweetness, but I would prefer it to be a much higher gravity beer.

Poured from a 12oz bottle. Aroma was a very strong fall season smell. Like a high end candle. The taste was a bit like I took a bite of that over-fragrant candle. The spices were not subtle at all and overall just too much for me to consider it a great seasonal.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Dark amber to mahogany color, hazy, with compact head. Aroma of malt and cinnamon, maybe nutmeg, better than most pumpkin beers but still unimaginative. Smooth mouthfeel; some malt and caramel flavor, moderately sweet, and clearly spiced. The final becomes lightly minty.
Pumpkin beers are useless, but the Elysian one as usual is well brewed.

On tap @ Elysian Capitol Hill. Golden pour with white foam. What the h...smells more like white grape juice than anything. Sort of goopy and tons of caramel. A bit of grass and toasted bread. Flavor is tons of caramel and toast. Some squash flowers, mild spice, and white grape. Disappointing.

Tap at The Alibi Room, Vancouver. Pours amber with a white head. Aroma has lots of sweet cinnamon spiciness - mulling spices. Light body, medium carbonation. Caramel, lemon, cinnamon, light apple, cloves... Not my thing but OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
