Light white head and dark, orange caramel color. Aroma of clove, cinnamon, pumpkin (pleasant). Nice pumpkin spice flavor. Light carbonation. One of the better pumpkin brews. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Orange pour, light colored head. Pumpkin spice, lager beer flavor underneath. Nothing spectacular but not bad.

Transfer from BA review on 10-2-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – The beer pours an orange color with a two finger white head. The head is rather billowy, but fades relatively fast to a persistent cap on the top of the brew. Once faded, the head leaves only a lighter level of lacing. Smell – The aroma is a nice pumpkin pie aroma. There is a good presence of caramel sweetened pumpkin with pumpkin spices. The heaviest of the spices are of cinnamon and nutmeg, but aromas of allspice and clove are there as well. Taste – The taste hits heavily upfront of roasted pumpkin and some flavors of cinnamon and allspice. As the taste advances, a light brown sugar sweetness mixed with clove and ginger come to the tongue. The sweetness then fades as more roasted pumpkin comes to the tongue, and in the end, a dry roasted spiced pumpkin flavor is left to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the chewier side with a carbonation level that is on the slightly above average side. While traditionally I like smoothness with a pumpkin brew, the more chewy nature of this body is actually quite nicely compliments the more average to above average carbonation level. Overall – A more roasty and dry pumpkin brew with a very interesting feel. Give it a go if you have a chance!!

(Draught at brewpub) clear deep copper, fine white bubbles. Nose of huge cinnamon, candied pumpkin, fall spices, very sweet and fragrant. Taste is medium sweet, pumpkin, cinnamon and spices. Dry, well carbonated, and a touch buttery.

Pours hazy pale copper with a fading head. Nose shows currants, fruit cake, candied fruit, golden syrup and soft pumpkin. Pretty similar flavours, although the pumpkin is more prominent and there’s less sweetness. Still a lot of the christmas pudding-like spices. Finishes a little short, could use a longer lasting malty finish. Nice moderately high carbonation.

Bomber from Capones. Somewhat dark amber that its difficult to shine a light through with a generous creamy tan head that gradually disappears. A nice light enjoyable spice (nutmeg, some cinnamon), some pumpkin puree, slightly sweet and a bit of homemade buttery crust. Moderate+ carbonation and moderate body, somewhat sweet, bubbly, nice spicy and pumpkin finish but a tad artificial left on the palate.

Bottle from Yamaichi. Big pumpkin and nutmeg nose. Clear copper/orange color, no head to speak of. Very sweet pumpkin and spice initial / spices really intensify in mid, ginger and nutmeg / finish is slick and retains sweetness along with spices. Medium body. Alright, for what it is.

Very spicy aroma, sweet smelling. Tastes spicy with cinnamon and all spice really prominent. Can taste the pumpkin throughout, fairly subtle but there. Great pumpkin ale, very very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2011 This years batch is 5.8% ABV A: Pours rusty orange with a creamy finger of tannish foam over the top of excellently clear beer. cobweb lace. S: This beer is set apart from many of the pumpkins I’ve had based solely on the addition of ginger. This assures the beer has a baked tone on the nose for me. There’s of course the clove, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon and semi sweet malts. T: The beer is dominated a little more than would be preferred, and makes it a bit spicy. There is an interesting vanilla profile on the finish. M: Medium bodied with lively carb and a semi dry finish. O: This is a totally different take on the style, and I like it. I think they need to dial back the ginger just a bit, and help bring the body into coordination with the flavors. Serving type: bottle 10-06-2011
