3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle). Amber-orange complexion. Aroma was faint but distinctly pumpkin. The flavor was true to style and was not overly spiced with natural pumpkin flavor. A bid too carbonated. This is my first sample from this brewer. Looking forward to others.

12 oz bottle pours amber gold with a finger of foam and lots of debris. Aroma is spices, most notably cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste is pumpkin and pie spice. A little heavy on the spice, clove taste is strong with a slight numbing sensation. Good pumpkin ale.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz pour from chilled bottle into stemmed tulip. Orange, translucent, solid carbonation, moderate white head, and a bunch of yeast or pumpkin that I accidentally poured in. Woops! Smells like fall. Nose is strong pumpkin pie spice (all spice, nutmeg, clove). Probably something else under there, but the spices dominate. A bit of sweetness, for sure. Medium body and creamy. Taste is like an amber ale mixed with a pumpkin pie. A little maltiness up front, followed by pumpkin, followed by a strong spiced finish. Right on the mark for the intentions. Interesting beer. Makes me excited for fall!

For a Pumpkin I liked it some it smelled spicy but was lighter in flavor and still kept the spice required. Nice orange color. Bottle

Bottle from Deguchiya. Rich spiciness, cinnamon, ginger bread, dark malt, pumpkin cake. Nice one, maybe more xmas-style but quite flavorful and enjoyable.

Fruity gourde smell, wierd cloudy head, but not much carbonation. Flavor was pretty good on pumpkin side. It’s ok but do not buy a bunch.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tulip on 08.17.14.
A: Pumpkin pie. Nutmeg, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Sweet smelling.
A: Somewhat opaque caramel colored body. 1 finger head that recedes quickly.
T: Pumpkin, spice and brown sugar.
P: Smooth and watery.
O: There wasn’t as much pumpkin flavor in this as there should have been. It tasted and felt very watered down. This wasn’t that great, but it was drinkable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap. Pours a clear dark orange body with a small frothy off-white head. The nose is sweet malt and light spice of nutmeg and vanilla, rather subtle and pleasant. The flavor isn’t overly sweet or spiced, it’s very drinkable compared to many pumpkin beers. I think there’s a little vanilla in here that really mellows out things and works with the sweetness of the malt. Medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty good beer.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
This beer lacks the intense spicing of some pumpkin ales and has a natrual pumpkin flavor (possibly a hint of allspice). It tastes like the pumpkin juice was squeezed out of the pumpkin for the purpose of this ale.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Very attractive deep red orange, fizzy one-finger head that vanishes completely.
Fruity bouquet, but not exactly pumpkin, more orange-lemon. That should be a warning, because after an initial taste of fruit and spice, hops keep trying to push their pine-citrus profile over the pumpkin.
This is like a novice’s idea of what a pumpkin ale should be after drinking only US IPAs. Gets better as it warms, and some actual pumpkin arrives. The finish is thankfully less bitter than the typical IPA, but the sour citrus notes remain.
Not the worst, but with so many good pumpkin beers on the market _ including better ones from Elysian _ don’t waste your time.
