Flavor started with some definite vanilla, wood and hops. Finish was silky, creamy and overall this beer very unique and well worth a try.

Tap at BT. Pours a light amber - mostly clear with a thin head. Aroma is vanilla and spice with American oak- phenolic, toasty, and moderate tropical fruitiness- light citrus. Flavor is lemon zest and fruity, medium sweet caramel malts light toffee, honey, herbal , vanilla oak, and amarillo hops.

2008. Golden with attractive stubborn lacing. Raw sugar sweetness coupled with fresh cut oak. The beer and the oak compliment each other wonderfully. The oak surrounds the bifrost without concealing it, long oaky finish. Either the age has softened the beer or the oak has a smoothing effect. Either way this beer is in its prime.

On tap at the Capitol Hill Elysian Pub. Colour... cloudy golden-orange. Nose... spicy, oaky and boozy. Palate... gentle CO2, oaky, slightly boozy, turbinado, creme brulee, brown sugar, lightly crisp on the finish. Almost like a "light" barley wine.

First one that I didn’t get much in the aroma. Perhaps a hint of wood. Wow is the oak in the flavor. Oaky, vanilla, but with a very smooth finish. Other than no aroma, this beer was perfect to me.

draft at elysian fields while waited for the line for motorhead to die down. pours a well hazed brownish amber with a modest, loose tan head. mild sweetish nose of oak, bready malts, and mild citric hop notes. thick and creamy body with subdued carb. all the sweet notes from the nose return, though it is surprisingly not an especially sweet beer given its construction. bread, vanilla, citrus, maybe a bit of cinnamon. mild finish. not bad. could stand to push a bit farther one way or the other towards either complex or refreshing.

Draft. Pours a copper body with a white head. Woody dry sawdust notes with a lighter oak. Then some vanilla infused fruit ester that come across chewy more than flavorful. Some dry hoppiness and some dry spices to finish. Nice.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 riversideAK (5413) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JUN 3, 2009
Super malty nose, light vanilla, caramel, hint of fresh oak and a dash of floral hops. Pours golden amber with no head. Rather sweet with a hint of spice perhaps, caramel malts, some floral hop, and fresh woody dryness round out the finish. Malt forward. Medium creamy body and a long dried out finish.
