mabel (1246), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 6, 2008 [1109-20080217] Tap @ Elysian Fields (Seattle, WA). Mild yeast aroma. Clear, dark brown red body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Boozy grain roasted malt flavour with molasses notes. Medium-full body hints at sourness. Quite nice.
doubleo (683), San Diego, California, USA Jul 12, 2008 22oz bottle. I wasn’t expecting to like this brew. Pours dark, caramelly brown with a thin offwhite head, no retention, no lace. Smells of sweet dark fruit and malts. Tastes malty and sweet dark fruity, plums and overripe pears and apples. Full body, vibrant carbonation. Angeloregon (1549), Portland, Oregon, USA Apr 15, 2008 From a 22-ounce bottle purchased at By The Bottle--Deep, chestnut-brown body with a small tan head. Sweet, malty, nutty, earthy nose. Dry, sweet, molasses and malts flavor. Quite rich and robust. This is one you should open and not worry about. glkaiser (872), Seattle, Washington, USA Mar 3, 2008 Smooth with just enough sweetness and a little bit of dark fruit. Very well made and one I could come back to over and over again. Minimal hop presence and bitterness. Perfect BBQ beer. SuzyGreenberg (799), Seattle, Washington, USA Feb 15, 2008 22 oz. bottle - pours clear brown with tan head that quickly fades and leaves some minor lacing; mostly malty aromas with a little sugar and sour; drink smooth and creamy with flavors mainly malt, caramel and a lingering tartness; very tasty
