Nose is of chocolate and light roast. A little earthy as well. Underlying sweetness is there as well. Pours dark brown, almost black, some dark red hues are there as well. Thin creamy brown head. Chocolate flavors, sweet dark malt, roasted malts. Earthy bitterness in the finish. Sweet/dry lingers on the palate.

Bomber from ditmier - thanks, Eric! Dark chocolate pour with mild sentiment and a huge fluffy tan head. Strong milk chocolate aroma, with an almost sea salt-like tang to it, like one of those completely awesome Vosges chocolate bars. Coffee and moderate hops in the flavor, a nicely roasted taste characterizing the whole, along with a smooth mouthfeel and moderately chalky finish. Solid as hell, would love to try this one on tap.

Beautiful pour, a deep dark brown almost black in color. Strong aromatics of dark chocolate, coffee, dark roast grains and sweet malt. Very little to no hop aroma, smooth and rounded bitterness that plays within the realm of a dark-coffee impression. The interplay between the dark-roasted malts and robust Columbus hop bitterness can be quite tricky to get right. The medium body is incredibly important to make this slightly filling but to also keep it from becoming a hollow-shell of a porter.

22 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, pine and light smoke. The flavor is roasted malt sweetness, with a smoke and hop bitterness. Medium body and average carbonation and a long roast and bitter finish. This is really nice, the hops really come through in the flavor and help to balance out the big malty body. I’ve had this before but don’t remember it being this good.

1 pint 6 oz. Bottle. Pours black with little to no head at all. Chocolaty flavors lead the aroma with smoke, roast and fruity flavors following close behind. a sharp tingly after taste surprises the palate. Bitterness is medium; however, the flavor is somewhat peaceful. One of the better porters...very good

On tap at the Elysian Fields pub. Colour... very dark brown with no head. Nose... smoky, roasty malt. Palate... frothy, dry, crisp, bitter coffee and a bitter finish. Nice!

From a 22 oz bottle with a different label than the one pictured here, this poured a very dark brown that tended toward black with a fat and foamy tan head and good lacing rings. The nose is of roasted malts with some chocolate notes and a hint of smoke. The mouthfeel is creamy and very smooth. Flavor is dominated by the chocolate malts, with some ripe fruit touches as well . Finish is nicely bitter. A very good porter.
