Aroma of dark roasted malt with hints of chocolate and smoke. Opaque black/brown color with a vigorous and substantial tan head. Near full bodied with coarsely creamy carbonation. The flavor is dark toasted malt and has fruit over chocolate roast malt. Seems to be floral hop and a bit of smoke. Almost crisp! The finish is lightly sweet with some floral hop to balance. All the while toasted malt lurks in the background. It’s not all that simple a drink. Very good.

Sweet milk chocolate with roasted and toasty, bready malt undertone. Some vinous fruitinous also notable. Opaque brown body is topped by a dense, fine bubbled, tan-brown head that sadly recedes quickly to a partial cover but does leave some lace. Chocolate sweetness is obvious but there is a fine bready malt character that supports the sweetness. Roast is defined in the finish and marries with the hops to provide lingering bitterness. Medium full body with moderate carbonation. Tulip glass. Allowed to warm from fridge temperature. Bottle (Brewery Creek, Oct-07).

Pours a deep, dark brown with light lacing and a strong chocolate and lightly smoked aroma. Tastes roasty and sweet, oyster sauce for sure, very typically porter-like with decent hops in the dry finish. Lots of carb, thin body, but passable. Very nice porter, I must have this one again soon!

10/20 On draught at the brewery. Aroma is roast malt forward, round and bready. Appearance is very dark brown with a medium tan head. Flavor is roast malt forward followed by sour chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium/high bodied with low grain texture and a medium carb feel. Overall, very easy dinking, just with low complexity.

Deep brown with a mountainous, fluffy, dark tan head. Dark roasted malts, sweet molasses, cocoa, and some cherry. Body is a little thin, and fairly carbonated. Nice, bitterswet flavor. Roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, citrus, and a little molasses. Quality porter.
