Looks beautiful, as it pours black with a thick head. Leaves lacing. Brilliant aftertaste of toasty chocolate malt, and no sweetness at all. Nose is unexciting and a bit metallic. Overall, this is a very nice porter and I’d drink it again for sure.

Bottle. Almost black with a rather large brown head. Dry and roasted with notes of medicin, citrus, fruit and chocolate. Doesnt seem right.

Drank from tap (well not from th tap...from a glass), at the Elysian Fields in Seattle. Pours an extremely dark red, bordering on black, with a tan head. Vinous aroma, with some strong malting. Chocolate, smoke and coffee in the flavour, with a medium body.

@ blind tasting - Near black body with a strange big head; Small cherry fruity slightly doughy nose; Thin simple acidy harsh body; Harsh thin finish, burning dark chocolate bitter. Hopefully broken.

On tap at Capital Hill Brewery. Aroma is filled with chocolate and maybe coffee. This beer does not have much hops flavor, but that is good thing here. This flavor is chocolaty and is one of my favorite American porters.
