3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at St Augustine’s in Vancouver. A black beer with a bit of tan head. Fruity and malty on the nose. A passable rather thin porter. It seems the intent was to create a lighter porter, but this comes off as weak. 3.3.

(Draught at brewpub) clear plum/brown, fine tan bubbles. Nose of nuts and their shells, mint, raisins and light English hops. Taste is nutty, cream lightly roasted, with a touch of butter. Very lightly bitter, more herbal than anything else, light nutty finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 13, 2014 Dark brown, chocolate nose. Creamy palate with big chocolate flavor throughout. Med bodied and chocolate dominates this brew. Nice body and flavor throughout and finish is dry. DeScription says it has a smoky flavor as well, but I don?t get it...just cocoa. Orig rate 11/26/13..3.0. Had off draft at field house location. Creamy mouthfeel, mostly dark slight roast malt character. Has a sweet dark chocolate aspect. Medium full bodied, finish has a drying sensation. Slight cream like undertones. Pronounced hop bitterness and creamy chocolate/coffee flavors persist. This beer is very fresh tasting, awesome this go round.
