Draught Colour not determinable. Very much roasted grains and impressive coffee nose, "BIG", but in a grand way. Smoked, cigarette ash, dry, bit severe, but very "closed" on a "right" porter, with all the requirements and without the sourishness of a stout (as wrong as that may be historically speaking). Dry, to style; medium bodied. Now here’s a porter for you.

Pours a very dark brown almost black, with just a hint of a tan head. This is a pretty up front and in your face porter, very bold with lots of chocolate and coffee, somewhat smoky. Flavor is just slightly overcarbonated and acidic, perhaps a little too hoppy. Still the flavor kicks ass, very rich and big for a porter. This definitely pushes the boundaries of style preferences.

Jet black, with a thin tan head. Chocolate and coffee everywhere. Fairly assertive roasty aroma as well. Subtle sweetness and maltiness behind the roasty notes. Flavour is fairly hoppy, dark chocolate and lingering roast and bitterness. Finishes bone dry. Almost chalky astringency. Not bad, but not really a porter either.

mucky brown color little to no white fizz, roasty yeast nose, malty roast body, zippy tingle, numbing, dry and lemony, unusual porter, mad dreadlocks on the label = atleast one extra point

Draught at the brewpub. Near black. Earthy and roasty. Dryish with soft mouthfeel and medium body. Notes of coffee before a salty, lighly tarry finish. Uncomplicated, but very good.

22 oz bottle, via Indiana_Red. Dark brown pour, almost black, with a finger sized creamy light brown head. Aroma of chocolate malt, light roasty notes, and a drying yeastiness. Flavor is balanced between chocolate and roasted malts with a dry bitter finish. Light alcohol and chalky flavors in the finish as well. Medium bodied with a little too much fizzy carbonation. A decently made Porter. As it warmed, more of the roastiness came to the fore-front.

22oz bottle via trade with Degarth - Thanks Joe! - Pours black with a short tan head that faded pretty quick. Aroma of light coffee, some cola, and some light hops. Flavor is some light coffee, lots of cola, some nuts, and roasted malt and a little bit of sour flavor. Palate is a tad on the thin and watery side. Drinakable but nothing fantastic.

Courtesy of Indiana_Red <P> Aroma is dark chocolate and old coffee grounds...not used...old. Deep black with a mostly diminishing thin tan head. Flavor is a bit tangy as Pinkzambia pointed out. Almost a gamy meat or over ripe fruit tanginess. Could be past their prime malts. It’s interesting in some ways, but still unexpected. Still get lots of dark chocolate notes and lesser stale coffee notes.
