Very rich chocolate aroma with a very slighty hint of coffe hidden in there. Flavor is slight chocolate with a hint of coffee at the end. Palate is a little light. The aroma is easily the best part of this beer. I love the aroma. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 1, 2005 22 oz bottle. Almost black with a smallish head. Aroma is creamy and smooth, mostly milk chocolate. Taste is nicely hopped with cocoa and coffee. Really smotth but it falls short by being just too thin bodied. Middle of the road. presario (2956), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 19, 2005 Bottle. Pours dark brown and opaque with a creamy tan head that leaves some lacing and spotting on the sides of the glass. Aroma is nice, dark roasty malts, floral hops, coffee and hints of peat. Sweet and sour, rich malts with sour / bitter flavors that balance it nicely. Medium body and relaxed carbonation. Pretty good beer overall. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 3, 2005 Not being a huge fan of the porter style, I still thought this one was "goodly" done. A black appearance with a small beige head. The aroma was chocolate, coffee, and some charcoal. The flavor was more on the bitter side with the coffee taking over the chocolate like the submissive little beoch that the chocoalte is. Im not sure what I just typed. The aftertaste is bitter and dry. Overall a good one. LilKem (1210), Marietta, Ohio, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 25, 2005 Nice new label...the mighty muscled hero holds his fearsome sword in one hand and Medusa’s head in his left. Good job, Percy!
Dark brown head, nearly black, sliver of ruby at the edges, thin cocoa-tan head...
Lovely aroma: smooth, creamy, but beefed up with bittersweet notes, chocolate and coffee, flavorful and appealing, butternut, butterscotch, toffee...why not toss in black cow candy while I’m at it?
A repitition on the tongue, fullness of flavor, creamy, a sweetness persists, but never too, and it is it’s own reward. Utterly smooth and delightful, a glimmer of moist mollasses and sly sassafrass.
Medium to full-bodied, long, soft, drying finish. This is quite excellent and fulfills my expectations on most levels. Nice, nice, nice.
The more I finish the bomber, the more it reminds me of many of my favorite porters. Top-notch. CapFlu (3481), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
