Pours a dark brown almost black with a slowly dissipating tan frothy head. Aromas of
sweet burnt malts, little caramel, chocolate, and hops. Flavors of light roasted malts,
caramel, hops, and a little chocolate. Semi sweet throughout. I liked the burnt malted taste
it leaves in the end. Pretty good for a porter but some of the flavors that should stick out
to make an excellent porter is what this one lacked. All around I thought it was pretty decent. blipp (1641), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 6, 2008 Bottle. Pours deep brown with a tan head. Lightly roasted aroma with sweet caramel and a touch of hops. The flavor is a little smoky, which I love, and and also has notes of coffee, roast and floral hops. Nice. malrubius (981), Valley Stream, New York, USA
