Appearance: Pours a black body with a tall, lasting, beige-colored head. Smell: Malty nose smelling mildly of chocolate, smokey, roasted grains, and burnt breadcrusts. Taste: Blend of chocolate and roasted, earthy grains with a fairly restrained sweetness present. Slight breadiness. Light touch of molasses and caramel squares. Thin trace of fruitiness. Light, woodsy, floral hops with a light bitterness. Finishes drying with a lingering taste of unsweetened chocolate. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: A rather pleasant porter to drink.

Draught @ Elysian Field. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Roasted malty coffee aroma. Roasted malty coffee and chocolate flavor with some hoppy hints. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish with some hints of coffee in the aftertaste.

Bomber from Bottleworks; Nose of chocolate, caramel, and light vanilla; almost blocks sunlight but appears very dark cherry red with a nice tan, glass lacing head; flavor is chocolate, pepperiness, lightly bitter, and a toffee note; finish light hop bitterness. Excellent plain jane, non barrel aged porter; wish I could get this all the time!

Very dark chestnut brown, opaque really. Decent brown bubbly head. Chocolate and rich roast aroma. Flvour of chocolate stands out, generous amounts of roast malt, some coffee and a chalky/clay quality. Slightly heavy, smooth velvety mouthfeel. Excellent.

bottled, pours dark brown with nice tan head with large bubbles, aroma of roasted malt, taste of roasted malt with nice light coffee presence with mild hop end, leaves palate quicker then expected, not bad.

Pours a dark brown, with a medium, creamy, light tan head. Smells of light chocolate cream, vanilla, light dark fruits, and caramel malt. The flavor had some dark sweet malt, toasted malts, and caramel cream. Lots of toffee and molasses as well. Pretty sweet in the taste overall. The chocolate really came out in the finish along with some coffee. Not a bad porter.

Disappointing. King of thin and one dimensional ... strong coffee notes in nose and taste, but not much else. Really disappointingly thin and watery. Uncharacteristically hoppy for a porter.
