Malt is chocolatey with touches of coffee, but feels a bit thin. Smooth, moderately hoppy, roasty finish. Slight sweetness, lightly earthy. Finish does not last long, simple but enjoyable overall. darn1207 (668), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2002 Rich dark color, but the head disappeared almost immidiately. Sweet vanilla nose followed by a definite presence of baker’s chocolate. Some well roasted malt too! Mildly interesting, did keep me coming back to it, but maybe that’s because it was too thin. finish kept me in tune for a little while, but there’s nothing super special here. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA

A real nice looking pour. Aroma is chololate, malts and faint hops. As it warms the aroma seems to get more milky. Flavor is roasted bitter malts, cocoa, light smoke and light hops in the finish. Body was just a tad thin but overall it was pretty damn good. MatSciGuy (642), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 15, 2006 Bomber. Aroma: Rich roasted malt flavor with overtones of coffee and cocoa. Appearance: Pours black, but with strong red highlights when held to the light. Head was medium tan, full and foamy. Good retention and nice lacing. Flavor: Coffee and cocoa, with hints of smoke. Some sourness near the finish which brings to mind dried cherries. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Some astringency noticed throughout, but more prominent in the finish. Overall: Not bad, but really lacking anything interesting to make it stand out. Mouthfeel was a little thin. markas101 (597), Fargo, North Dakota, USA
