The beer as it sets in my glass, black-a-vised, the head is monumental in size, light chocolate in color and frothy in texture, as the head disappears, a thick coating of lace forms on the glass. Nose is roasted and toasted grains, sweet, crisp and fresh, a real treat for the senses, start is thickly malt and somewhat sweet, top is middling and rich in feel to the palate. Finish is moderately acidic, the hops pronounced in their spicy bite, bitter chocolate dry aftertaste, a nice porter that is certainly worthy a try for the lovers of the “Dark” side.

On tap @ the brewery during 7/5/2014 Seattle beer tour. Pours a dark brown appearance with a light brown head. Roasted malty, dark chocolate, cocoa aroma. Light to medium bodied. S’mores flavor. Light smoke. A bit on the sweet side. Fine.

Chocolate, some nuttiness, and a nice roasted character. Weak body. Tried this at the DC beerfest with Jess, Mark, and Matt in 2014.

(Draught at brewpub) clear plum/brown, fine tan bubbles. Nose of nuts and their shells, mint, raisins and light English hops. Taste is nutty, cream lightly roasted, with a touch of butter. Very lightly bitter, more herbal than anything else, light nutty finish.

A little watery on the palate. Some roast and a little chocolate without being huge on anything. Finishes with light bitterness. Soft overall feel. Nothing memorable. Tap at DC Beer festival.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2014 Dark brown, chocolate nose. Creamy palate with big chocolate flavor throughout. Med bodied and chocolate dominates this brew. Nice body and flavor throughout and finish is dry. Description says it has a smoky flavor as well, but I don?t get it...just cocoa. Orig rate 11/26/13..3.0. Had off draft at field house location. Creamy mouthfeel, mostly dark slight roast malt character. Has a sweet dark chocolate aspect. Medium full bodied, finish has a drying sensation. Slight cream like undertones. Pronounced hop bitterness and creamy chocolate/coffee flavors persist. This beer is very fresh tasting, awesome this go round.

Smells like sweetened trash. Tastes so strange. Not like a porter at all. Cereal, basil, cooked vegetables. No.

A pretty average porter. Pours a muddy brown with a light tan head. Smells good, like vanilla and coffee. Taste is basic porter, lots of coffee, and a slightly weird aftertaste. Had on tap at the brewpup. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
