Very heavy chestnut nose. Fuselly, corny aroma with hints of toast. The flavour is very toasty. The body is smooth with light caramel. Keep that corn in check and this could be pretty good.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy mid-brown. Grassy nose with some toffee. Rather sweet with near full body. The molasses are obvious, but thankfully it’s not cloying. Plenty of cookie malt, balanced by hops. Rather low bitterness.

$3.50 on tap at Elysian Tangletown. A very nice nut brown ale..cloudy brown, almost like swirling mud. Not a very strong aroma, but a little sweetness. Not much head. Very refreshing nut brown with a strong, lingering roasted/nutty malt taste. Taste of alcohol is prominent, but not overwhelming.
