2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a beautiful bright copper orange with a smallish head and not much retention, lots of CO2 activity. Sweet malts on the nose.
Attack: onslaught of 10/10-hoppy bitterness, medium freshness, mild saltiness, 4/10-sweetness
Mid-palate: bitter grapefruit in the background, malts, continuation of hoppy bitterness, orange oil, hints of caramel
Finish: leaves an almost salty-like feeling on the palate, lingering bitter hops.
Final notes: This beer is all bitter hops from start to finish with some grapefruit citrus and malts. I can’t say I love it... but I’m happy I tried it. Too hoppy-bitter aggressive for me.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber. Pale yellow, with strange green tinges at the edge. Fat, fruity, bacon grease aroma. Fairly balanced initial / mid goes to a bubblegummy flavor and that dissipates quickly / final has a touch of sweetness. Medium body. Sort of pleasant, but less than it promises. Label claims it is "unapologetically fierce"; yet maybe they should revise that?

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keeping it quick - very good overall. But not as 'unapologetically hoppy' as advertised, which was disappointing. Everything else about it is great, so I will have again with different bitterness expectations

(22oz bottle, courtesy of Mora2000) Pours a cloudy golden body with a small white head. Aroma of orange, bread, toffee, and florals. Flavor of orange, bread, grass, apricot, and tangerine with a dry, bitter finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap. Big citrus and floral hop flavours, but balanced. Very rich. Starts sweet and has a gradual, lasting bitter finish. Another fine Elysian IPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rich, chewy caramel and copper coloured body with a bright orange tint and a nice, two centimetre tall tan head - this is what an IPA should look like. Aroma of pungent citrus and resinous hops with a lot of alcohol and depth noticeable. Medium-bodied; Nice, assertive hops up front that fade relatively quickly and show some sweetness, some citrus and a bunch of herbal notes. Aftertaste is relatively mild with hops noticeable, but not bittering, some alcohol on the finish, a touch of dryness and a great malt backbone. Overall, a nice pungent IPA with a great balance of malt and a nice complex flavour that shows much more than just hop overload. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 02-July-2012 for US$7.00 sampled at home in Washington on 18-November-2012.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Terrific blend of hops. This is what I like to drink when I get an IPA. Floral, citrusy, and a bit earthy all in one. Great stuff!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Out of a 22 oz. Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber color with a small white head. Smell is hoppy but balanced. The taste is sweet with a small amount of fruitness. Not really my favorite.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bomber. Really nice well balanced rendition of a NW IPA. Elysian never disappoints. I would drink more if it was available in 6 packs.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
650 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained, off white head, with moderate lacing, over a hazy, amber (SRM 9) body.........nose is toffee/caramel, pine, pineapple......taste is sweet malts, toffee/caramel, light pine, pineapple, hints of tropical fruit (mango, peach), finishing with a moderate lingering pine, citrus, with hints of sweet, bitterness.....mouth feel medium, slightly sticky, carbonation low. This is not a typical "Left Coast" IPA. In spite of the description, the hops were done in a moderate way, such that pine and grapefruit peel did not dominate overmuch. The hints of other aromas and flavors from the hops made for a nice variation from the often trite mainstream IPA .How high was the fermentation temperature? The fruity esters are really huge. The net result is a nicely balanced beer that is a bit more English in style than described. It is quite lovely. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7
