3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Honey-colored pour with an off-white head and good lacing. Nose is pine, orange, spice and malt. Taste recapitulates the nose, with the spice notes coming to the front. Palate is smooth and lush. I would recommend bringing this the next time you are invited for dinner.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Growler from Labodega. Hazy light amber with a small off white head. Aroma is floral, citrus, sugary caramel and some pine. Flavor starts sweet and malty and finishes with a strong bitterness and some light alcohol. Medium body with average carbonation and a nice dry finish. Nice IPA, lots of hop flavor, aroma and bitterness with a good malt presence.

3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour a orange rusty amber. The nose is pine. The pallet has a apricot and peach flavor with a bit of floral grapefruit and pine. The finish is quite bitter, astringent, an tannic. Like a over steeped tea. Not my favorite Elysian IPA

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Belmont Station. Pours hazy light amber with a slight white head. Aroma is pine and near sugar bomb. With quite a bit of floral and citrus. Med plus body. Flavor is resin, citrus and floral. Hints of brown sugar. Damn but it’s hoppy. Damn but it’s bitter. Finishes towards barleywine, but the hops is enough to cut that. Finishes extremely tasty.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a hazy medium golden color with minimal head. Strong aroma of citrus, hops and sweet malts. Sweet malts and hops. A bit sweet and syrupy in the mouth for me, but the flavor is otherwise pleasant and the hops cut the sweetness a bit. A very flavorful IPA, but maybe not one I would want to drink on a hot day.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Central City Liquor Store, Surrey
Golden to light amber color, with medium sized compact head. The aroma is quite powerful, fresh and fruity, with hints of caramel and toffee too. It has a very good malt and toffee flavor, dynamic, not chewy at all, with a fresh hopping, providing delicate fruits (apricot and sweet oranges), mild resins (spruce), light spices (black pepper, very light coriander).
Another good hit from Elysian in the IPA domain, notable for its freshness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Caramel pour with a robust beige tinted head. Huge mega-grapefruity aroma with some papaya. Fairly crisp grapefruit pith flavors. House character apparent; pretty easy drinking though a touch too caramel sweet and resiny relative to my very favorite IPAs.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The pour is a hazy, orangey, amber color with a moderate, off-white, pillowy, frothy head which is somewhat lasting and leaves drippy, frothy lace. The nose is very nice with floral and leafy notes, light pine, faint toasted grains, and nice fruit notes of peach, tangerine, and faint grapefruit. The flavor is similar but spice note emerges to match the grapefruit, tangerine and light peach, some herbal, pine still, and a honey sweet backbone. The palate is nearly lively, medium, and creamy. The finish is spicy, drying only slightly, some herbal, and pine. The bitterness is deceptive hiding behind the sweet malt backbone and the intense fruit notes. A nice, unique approach to the limitless number of IPA’s, but I feel like this would make a great IIPA. Nice offering from Elysian.
