COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beer and coffee are Seattle siblings, jealously dividing the day. Split Shot combines the talents of Elysian’s brewers with a pound per barrel of cold-infused, Seattle-produced Lighthouse coffee. It’ll open your eyes to a delicious new beer. Split Shot is the official beer of 2012 Seattle Beer Week.

Pours an almost opaque black with a frothy brown head. Aroma of chocolate, Cocoa, espresso, coffee, sweet chocolate and creamy latte. Taste is roasted malts, cocoa, sweet lactose, coffee and a nice sharp bitterness from the expresso on the finish but never harsh. Excellent milk stout with added espresso... Great balance.

bottle, pretty nice, the roastyness from the coffee balance out the sweetness from the lactose. A very nice blend. Very tasty.

Nitro pour ..... Black pour with a beautiful khaki/tan creamy head and lots of sticky lacing ..... Aroma of fresh coffee, dark chocolate, caramel malts and light lactose sugar .... taste is of dark chocolate, fresh coffee, caramel malts, some lactose sugar ... chalky dark chocolate and fresh coffee beans dominate this brew ... very smooth flavors and wonderfully creamy on nitro .... finishes dry with a lingering bitter dark chocolate and coffee flavor .... good stuff

A delicious milk stout. Dark brown pour with a creamy dark tan/beige head. Flavour of coffee and cocoa, the roasted coffee is delicious and tastes as fresh as if it were fresh ordered in Seattle. Mouthfeel is milky and creamy, with nice sugary notes going down.

Bottle: Dark brown with a tan cap, decent lacing throughout. The nose is seductive with coffee and cocoa. The amount of roast is just right and the quality of the coffee is not lost. The same translates to the taste; the quality of the coffee is strongly evident. A nice amount of roast and light sweetness. Think rich espresso with a light cream. No bitters to speak of. The only detriment, imo, is the body being a little thin. It misses the creaminess of the taste, if that makes sense. A minor gripe; overall this is very well done.

Bomber. Clear ruby hued dark brown, huge tan foam head slowly settles and lasts. Muted coffee chocolate aroma. Much too fizzy, lighter roast coffee taste with too much expired creamo, some milky sweet chocolate. Lively carbonation, light-medium bodied, low hopped. Just drinkable, hardly enjoyable. Ab-Inbev couldn’t have wrecked this allready, could they?!? NFL (Not for Lagerboys)
