Beer and coffee are Seattle siblings, jealously dividing the day. Split Shot combines the talents of Elysian’s brewers with a pound per barrel of cold-infused, Seattle-produced Lighthouse coffee. It’ll open your eyes to a delicious new beer. Split Shot is the official beer of 2012 Seattle Beer Week.

On tap @ The Beer Junction. Nitro. High drinkability. Very nice, almost comforting, espresso taste with a solid stout to back it up. Not an overwhelming bitter taste, yet enough to compliment the robust malt sweetness and coffee finish. Fantabox

12 ounce bottle from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Just a tiny bit of red in this black beer. The foam is very big and is tan in color. The aroma is roast, lactic, and chocolate. Pleasant. The flavor is all of that along with some early zingy hops. That settles into citrus fruit including orange. The feel was nice and smooth. This was a nice beer.

355ml bottle from Stewarts Wine Company. Rating from April 2014. Hints of coffee throughout this very tasty beer make for good drinking.

Good sweet stout coming from the coffee area and it has a good flavor associated. Nice smooth and a good alcohol content. One of their better.

Draft at Towne Tavern. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Doesn’t leave any lacing. Slight coffee note on the nose. Nice blend of coffee, roasted malt, and lactose on the tongue. Finishes clean. Solid!

12oz bottle... I think I got this at Perfect Pour. Dark brown color. Thin khaki head. Dots of lace. Medium body. Smooth, crisp, lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Really nice chocolate, coffee aroma. Moderate bitter, light sweet. Solid, tasty cofffee stout. Nice milk chocolate cream and coffee aroma. Some mint, even. I dig this. Lighter, easy drinking kind of refreshing coffee milk stout.

Pours black with a fading head. Nose shows a well-balanced mix of roasted malt, coffee and cocoa. Sweet-smelling, reminiscent of a cappuccino. Sweet flavours, more coffee, roasted malt and lactose sweetness. Gets a little cloying later. Lovely creamy carbonation, feels a little watery though.

Bottle. Black pour with tan head. Chocolate, roasted, sweet malt tones. Aromas and flavors, are mild at a cold temperature, come out a bit as it warms up.
