Beer and coffee are Seattle siblings, jealously dividing the day. Split Shot combines the talents of Elysian’s brewers with a pound per barrel of cold-infused, Seattle-produced Lighthouse coffee. It’ll open your eyes to a delicious new beer. Split Shot is the official beer of 2012 Seattle Beer Week.

On tap @ The Beer Junction. Nitro. High drinkability. Very nice, almost comforting, espresso taste with a solid stout to back it up. Not an overwhelming bitter taste, yet enough to compliment the robust malt sweetness and coffee finish. Fantabox

Bottle to pint glass Coffee bitterness, toasted malt, oat, and dark chocolate. Black with a thin mottled tan head; nice lacing. Taste is coffee, vanilla wafer, chocolate, milk, and oats. It ends with a nice bitterness.

HHNNNNNGG love this beer. Dark brown pour with a tan head, decent lacing. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, and cocoa. Great balanced flavor of the coffee and cocoa, this is a perfect dessert beer

Nitro pour ..... Black pour with a beautiful khaki/tan creamy head and lots of sticky lacing ..... Aroma of fresh coffee, dark chocolate, caramel malts and light lactose sugar .... taste is of dark chocolate, fresh coffee, caramel malts, some lactose sugar ... chalky dark chocolate and fresh coffee beans dominate this brew ... very smooth flavors and wonderfully creamy on nitro .... finishes dry with a lingering bitter dark chocolate and coffee flavor .... good stuff

A delicious milk stout. Dark brown pour with a creamy dark tan/beige head. Flavour of coffee and cocoa, the roasted coffee is delicious and tastes as fresh as if it were fresh ordered in Seattle. Mouthfeel is milky and creamy, with nice sugary notes going down.

Bottle: Dark brown with a tan cap, decent lacing throughout. The nose is seductive with coffee and cocoa. The amount of roast is just right and the quality of the coffee is not lost. The same translates to the taste; the quality of the coffee is strongly evident. A nice amount of roast and light sweetness. Think rich espresso with a light cream. No bitters to speak of. The only detriment, imo, is the body being a little thin. It misses the creaminess of the taste, if that makes sense. A minor gripe; overall this is very well done.

Bomber. Clear ruby hued dark brown, huge tan foam head slowly settles and lasts. Muted coffee chocolate aroma. Much too fizzy, lighter roast coffee taste with too much expired creamo, some milky sweet chocolate. Lively carbonation, light-medium bodied, low hopped. Just drinkable, hardly enjoyable. Ab-Inbev couldn’t have wrecked this allready, could they?!? NFL (Not for Lagerboys)

Bottle from Safeway. Slick black in color. Nose is pretty much pure roasted coffee, with a dash of sweetness. Roasty coffee up front, going into a bit of sugary sweetness. A little bitter roastiness as well. Lightly bitter finish. Pretty tasty coffee stout.

Dry finish, plenty of length with perfect carbonation. Slight milky tinge but good dry coffee hoppy aftertaste.

This was putrid. Nasty milky stale coffee tasting watery stout. Probably the worst stout I ever had.
