Beer and coffee are Seattle siblings, jealously dividing the day. Split Shot combines the talents of Elysianís brewers with a pound per barrel of cold-infused, Seattle-produced Lighthouse coffee. Itíll open your eyes to a delicious new beer. Split Shot is the official beer of 2012 Seattle Beer Week.

Bomber into traditional English stout glass. Perfect color, decent head and left some decorative lace. Aroma was a sweet, espresso. Taste was perfectly balanced. Chocolate and coffee notes. Bitterness on the back end but not overpowering. Medium+ viscosity. Wonderful aftertaste. This is one rock solid, sweet stout! Iím sure if I was an espresso drinker, I would appreciate it even further. Good stuff!

From 12oz bottle to shaker. Pour is a black color with a tan head. Nose is big coffee, chocolate, roasted malt. Taste is mostly sweet, bits of bitterness. Finishes hold and heavy, phenomenal beer .

Bottle. Pours a near black color with moderate light tan head on it that quickly disappears. Nose is roasty with a very intense amount of coffee coming off it, and just a hint of some dairy underneath. Taste has a lot of coffee in there, but has a sweetness underneath, like itís a subtle latte. Very pleasant drink.

I love beer. I love coffee. Elysian is the first brewery to combine them perfectly.

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2013 On tap at Elysian in Seattle. Pours black. Smells of strong coffee amd chocolate. Beautiful mocha flavor. Medium mouthfeel, and goes down easy. One of the best I have had of the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(bottle) The aroma is well roasted coffee, cocoa, lactose and mild malt. Deep brown complexion with persistent tan head and consistent glass lacing with each sip. The flavor is a perfect blend of coffee, mocha and malt. Creamy palate. Long and rich finish. This beer is excellent.

Beautiful dark chocolate brown. A shallow crown of head. The aroma is dusty, nutty mocha & hazelnut. Rich breakfast blend coffee. Roasted but not burnt. The chocolate is of the crusty, chiseled-off-a-hunk type; very dark. The dryness is off the charts. I would inhale this stuff all day. The flavor is roasted cereal grains, followed by cold black coffee with a shot of hazelnut and caramel. The dry mocha brings up the rear. Feels slick and oily. This would be a GREAT beer for someone who doesnít like beer but likes iced coffee. (Write that down.)

"Elysian continues to impress. Even after two versions of the beast that is Old Ruffian, this beer stood out...and at 5.6% to boot! Wonderful aroma of sweet dark chocolate and coffee. Super smooth body. light-medium palate. coffee and roast in the fore in the flavor. A wonderful coffee stout. the lactic quality in the flavor and body compliments the beer well."
