Bottle. Pours a hazy copper color with a moderate white head on it. Nose has some floral grassiness to it with just a bit of citrus coming through. Taste has some sweet and bitter tones to it, with the citrus coming through slightly more here. Never would have guessed there was blood orange in this, though.

Rather dry and fairly bitter. Tight, bitter citrus zest, dry hops, Lacking greatly in punch and trailing off quickly, itís a bit disappointing.

On tap, pours an orange yellow with a big white head, laces well. Nose is hopes and sweet citrus. Crisp pleasant hop and sweet citrus taste with a mellow bitter finish. Pretty impressive beer.

Sampled at Schlaflyís Repeal of Prohibition festival 2014 - Pours hazy orange with an off-white head. The aroma has orange, smooth wheat and some cream. It has a medium rough body with moderate carbonation. The taste starts drier with some orange, but not as much as the aroma and a papery aspect. The finish is very cardboard-ish. This was okay, but didnít do much for me.

Draft at City Tap House DC. Pours a hazy golden color with orange highlights and a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have citrus peel, a splash of orange, floral notes, grass, lightly toasted bread with mild bitterness to the finish. A bit soft and thin mid palate. This is not one of my favorites from this brewery.

Strong citrus and hop aroma, limited head of light foam, tangerine color. Refreshing tart citrus taste with a powerful hoppy finish, overwhelming the initial pop of orange. Pleasant and crisp pale.

Bottle. Aroma full of hops, with blood orange notes. Gold with thin head. Taste is hoppy as, with a hint of bitterness and again blood orangenotes. Very well balanced beer.

Cloudy golden orange with a thick head of light foam. Strong hop aroma, grass, and some citrus. The hops overwhelm most blood orange flavor. It comes out a little in the middle of the taste with more hop presence in the front and back end. More like grapefruit than orange actually. Light bodied and thin fizzy texture.

Beershine (5218) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - APR 19, 2014
Bottle from Legacy. Hazy, pretty much opaque soft orange color. The aroma is hop-forward, somewhat chewy and actually smells stronger than it is, but not in a bad way. The body is deceptive, it is fairly big, but highly drinkable. The best thing about this beer is its level of refinement. The fruit component is understated, adding nuance to a solid base beer rather than becoming an overly fruited gimmick. In fact, if I didnít know there was orange here, I would not detect it. Itís more like, oh, thatís where that balancing bit of acidity comes from. Solid malt profile, mainly pales, with briskly hopped. As with most Elysian beers, accessible and sophisticated at the same time.
