3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
DATE REVIEWED: May 30, 2014... GLASSWARE: Howardís Pub pint... OCCASION: the end of baseball--18-6, a game short of sectional champs... APPEARANCE: pours a heavy,, unfiltered orange amber,, opaque yet alive; slightly off-white head is a finger thick and reasonably creamy; nice cloud-like smear as the glass drains... AROMA: dramatic citrus, as expected; some astringent grapefruit and what must be blood orange; overall, alluring enough... PALATE: hyper-active start to finish, with full-bodied teeth rattle and a low-end resonance at the throat; lingers like a trip; refreshing yet a bit too demanding for a pale ale... TASTE: despite the labelís psychedelia, not outrageous or funky--puckerish orange cream mingles with pale malts to produce a soft, reasonably balanced tart finish, ... OVERALLL: is that Lenny Kravitz on the bottle? a tug of war between "I wanna get away" and "are you gonna go my way?"--straddling the line between nuanced and novelty--but on a hot day, it delivers refreshment....

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle @ Gregís dump. Thanks Greg! Pours a milky yellow orange appearance with a white head. Dank, spicy piney hoppy aroma with some orange citrus and some smarties. Silky mouth feel. Very juicy and candy like flavor. Tangerine, pineapple, and ganja. A bit on the sweet side. Kind of a fun beer but a touch much for me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle, which I believe I got from AKA Friscoís in Frederick.. Clear orange yellow color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good, thicker lace. Nice orange citrus, some biscuity bready hop, light bit of vanilla. Really nice, but subtle malt bill. Works well. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet, kind of zesty. Medium body. Super smooth. Good smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Super awesome texture to this, very refreshing, crisp, and drinkable. Much better than expected. Tasting very fresh.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours hazy and on golden hues with a soft orange blush. Thin head of white foam that fell quickly and left some good sheeting lace. Nose is orange. The tangy sweet blood orange. A bit of the pith and a touch of sugar for malt. Taste is lovely citrus with that blood orange prominent and then a touch fo the tart grapefruit to hold it up. A little bit of sweet herbal and a and a bit of cracker from the malt carry this one to the finish like a spiked orange -ade.
I just loved this and think itís one the most pleasant pales I have tried. Sweet and tart combine seamlessly for a a palate that is quenched and satisfied. Light fruity and juicy mouthfeel. Silken malt with ample carbonation. Crisp and bold palate with a brisk finish and lingering tartness and slight bitterness.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Fresh bottle. Pours murky orange with tall frothy head. Aroma is, of course, orange, with some lighter pine/fir notes. Good dose of the bitter, acidic blood orange on the palate with some softer pale ale characteristics. Quick finish with some lingering bitterness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy light tan. Fruity, dash of grapefruity hops on the nose. Fresh, fruity palate, light citrus, pale malts and a bit of yeastiness. Moderate bitterness grows on the palate.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: Super hazy with a sunburst hue and a creamy light tan head on top. A very nice looking beer.
Aroma: Grapefruit and orange stick out, orange pith namely. No depth but pleasant if you enjoy those aromas.
Taste: The intro is rather mild with a noticeable malt base, the back-end picks up grapefruit and orange pith flavors though giving it a semi-harsh bitterness. I notice some caramel and toast towards the back-end also. The finish is dry and lingers of grapefruit.
Palate: Full-bodied with light carbonation.
Overall: This is a solid pale ale, an excellent one if you really enjoy the flavors that it provides. Iím not a huge fan of the straight forward grapefruit/bitter citrus beers though so Iím not in love. Itís also pricey.
