Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy straw colored body under a one inch frothy white head that had very nice retention. The nose is pretty typical for an APA, nice fresh and juicy hops with a fairly dry crackery malt. It smalls pretty delicious, but I can’t say that I get much influence from the fruit in here. The hops have a very New Zealand quality to them, but no indication of what is used on the label. The flavor is just lightly bitter, much more of a fruity and juicy expression from the hops. The malt is dry and crackery with a light and thin finish. Very easy drinking and light bodied with fine fizzy carbonation. Not sure I really taste much from the blood oranges either, but I think that may be from the choice of hops in here. This is pretty enjoyable, I could drink a sixer of this pretty easy on a warm day.

pineypower (2402) - Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA - JUN 15, 2013
Bottle from Spirits Manahawkin. Pours a somewhat cloudy orange color with a whipped topping-like head. Aroma is of of mild orange cream sickle, fresh orange peel, light grains, some mild sweetness, and a touch off citrusy bitterness. Taste is orange zest, grains, some dough, mild sweetness, and some hoppy, bitter citrus. Nice, easy drinking beer.

Appearance has a hazy orange color supporting a thin but steady head leaving fair lace. Smell of sweet malt and citric floral hops. Taste is upfront grapefruit bitter that carries throughout leaving the malt as a sideshow. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation.

Aroma: citrus, blood orange(duh) smooth, not very acidic. Appearance: light amber/yellow, mild cloudiness, finger of head, nice lacing. Taste: Awesome! This Tastes more like an IPA than I was expecting. I was thinking it was going to be a smooth light orangey fruit ale but there is a strong presence of hops that give it a similar flavour to Driftwood’s Fat Tug IPA which is my absolute second favourite beer at the moment. This is hoppy, citrusy, complex and flavourful ending with a nice blood orange and yeast aftertaste that fades quickly. Overall: This is not at all what I was expecting to find when I bought the bottle(I think a more mild and fruity blood orange beer would be ideal as a summer seasonal) but it is a delicious brew worthy of note. The fact that it reminds me of one of my favourite IPAs definitely helps and probably affected my scoring a little bit. Superfuzz, I can dig it. (Yeah i just threw in a tag line, so what?)

Sampled during VCBW 2013 at the River Rock Casino Resort pouring a hazy pale golden orange color with a small white head that leaves some decent lacing behind. Aroma is mild but pleasant with grains and orange zest. Taste is a light grass and orange zesty bitterness with a light malty sweetness in good balance. Light bodied with adequate carbonation leaving a nice sensation on the palate. A well done pale ale that I recommend to others.

Hop, coriander, and orange on the nose. Poured a bit hazy, light head, no lacing. High citrus notes on the palate and it was just a bit too much citrus for me.

Bottle. Pours hazy copper orange with a thin white head. Tastes like bitter hops, pine, grapefruit, and orange. Smells like malt and orange. Thick feel, medium body, and low carbonation.
