UPDATED: MAY 29, 2014 Bomber at Lake Wenatchee 7/20/2013

Red-orange pour, foamy head. Pine, citrus, orange juice aroma. Blood orange and juicy hops in the flavor. Soapy bitterness on the long finish. Nice before-noon drinker, mimosa for the beer set. 7/4/8/4/15=3.8

Revist at home, 12 oz bottles 4/21/14.

Lighter than red-orange pour this time (was I imagining before, or has it changed?) Not aggressive at all, but the orange and citrus hops blend just right to make for a delicious beer. Super-drinkable. Bump to 7/4/8/4/16=3.9

(One of many) revisit(s) 5/28/14. OMFG. I suddenly get it. I had no idea what Prufrock was talking about when he described a mustard thing going on that ruins this beer -- now I totally get it. This one has mustard all up in your face on the front end of the beer. I can’t really pin in down to a particular hop or other ingredient, nor can I even specify other beers that suffer from the same. I guess it’s a characteristic of a few APAs that push too far out along a spectrum I would normally describe as metallic, but even that I’m not sure of. In any case, yeah, a ton of mustard detracts significantly.

12 bottle pours a very murky gold with a white, sticky head. Aroma of light citrus, a little sulfur, a little sweaty, a bit papery. Flavor is more very light citrus, a bit more paper. If it didn’t say blood oranges were added, I wouldn’t have noticed. Just likened the citrus to the hops. More orange, less oxidation.

12 oz single from Roths Sunnyslope Market in S.Salem. $1.80 Pours a rather attractive murky orange colour with a nice sized thick white head. For a pale this has strong resiney/pine hop aromas, along with some orange peel..nice but odd for a pale Again strong hop flavours this time more fruit with the pine..some orange pith in the back and a sweet fruity finish. OK mouthfeel about average for style.. Nice drinkable beer..but I would say this is more an IPA than an APA or at least it blurs the line!

Rather dry and fairly bitter. Tight, bitter citrus zest, dry hops, Lacking greatly in punch and trailing off quickly, it’s a bit disappointing.

Transfer from BA review on 5-5-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – Pours a hazy orange color with a slight copper tint. Upon pouring there is a one finger white head that has a good level of retention. The head slowly fades over time to leave a great level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell - The smell is big of a grainy like smell mixed with an orange citrus as well as a grapefruit hop like aroma. Mixed with these smells are some other lighter fruit aromas as well as a little bit of a grassy aroma. Taste - The taste starts with an tangerine and bready flavor with a fair amount of graininess. The tangerine flavor remains, but seems to dry out as the flavor continues growing much less sweet and more bitter as the flavor advances. One of the reasons the flavor bitters and dries as it advances is that a grapefruit hop flavor begins developing more toward the middle of the taste. This grapefruit hop grows stronger till the end of the taste, mixing with a more grainy flavor as well as some notes of a grassy and herbal nature to leave a drier hopped citrus and grainy flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel -The body of the beer is light with a carbonation level that is rather average. Both are very fitting for the tangerine and grainy flavors of the brew producing a refreshing beer overall. Overall – This was an interesting one, as it was much more bitter and hoppy then I was originally expecting. I was expecting a wit like brew and got something of a wit-IPA blend. While it was not what I was expecting, it was rather tasty and is well worth a try if you get the chance.

A fruity American Pale Ale. Good quality, best enjoyed in the big pint sized bottle.

Draft at Moriartys. Very hazy orange gold pour with a cream egg shell head. Lace. Tons of citrus zest. Juicy and, well, fuzzy. Blood Orange juice with a slight shot of Worcestershire. Nicely unfiltered. Tastes good but not overly complicated.

Bottle. Hazy straw with a thin white head. Aroma is resin, tangerine and citrus skins. Blood orange comes through in the taste backed up by resinous bitterness. Prickly carb. Nice change of pace.

12 oz bottle. Aroma is perfumy, doughy, chalky; the orange makes itself known after it warms up. Pours hazy orange with a medium collapsing white head. Taste is mostly bitter with a nice orange component that provides a bit of tartness; also some graininess in the finish. Prickly carbonation, medium body. Not bad.
