3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, pours super hazed orange juice color light head and lacing, notes of heavy blood orange zest, hops, citrus. Not as bad as other Elysians but I prefer straight forward hoppy pales. Slightly underrated.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz single from Crossroads. Thus was a rather boring pale ale. The milky orange body sat under an average sized fiamy white head and had a little extra citrus juciness in the aroma that didn’t carry over to the grainy bready flavor. Meh.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Legacy. Hazy, pretty much opaque soft orange color. The aroma is hop-forward, somewhat chewy and actually smells stronger than it is, but not in a bad way. The body is deceptive, it is fairly big, but highly drinkable. The best thing about this beer is its level of refinement. The fruit component is understated, adding nuance to a solid base beer rather than becoming an overly fruited gimmick. In fact, if I didn’t know there was orange here, I would not detect it. It’s more like, oh, that’s where that balancing bit of acidity comes from. Solid malt profile, mainly pales, with briskly hopped. As with most Elysian beers, accessible and sophisticated at the same time.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured an amber color with aromas of hops, citrus, light orange, and some bitterness. Flavors were light malt followed by some citrus and feint blood orange. A little disappointed here wanted more blood orange to come through.

On tap at Brewski 030814. Very cloudy in the glass with a tiny head that is there one minute and gone the next. More grapefruit than blood orange in the flavour but it is still quite tasty.
