4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Logan Twp Giant Eagle. Pours a gorgeous, hazy orange with a huge, frothy white head. The nose is dominated by citrus hop notes, orange and lemon, cat pee and grass. Watery mouthfeel with lots of hop flavor, lemon orange and herbs, Not overly bitter, but chock full of hoppy goodness with out going overboard. Yummy.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A fun summer pale that works! Pour is more hefe like in its cloudiness. Primary flavor note to me is more grapefruit than orange, over a pale base that provides a nice foundation. Tanginess lingers. A refreshing session at 5.4%! B+

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy orange gold with a finder of coarse white head. Settles quickly with a little lacing. Aroma is hoppy, fruity, citrus, very mildly funky. Flavor is hoppy, strong orange/citrus, with a mildly bitter, citrus finish. Hint of medicinal/herbal tones. Reminiscent of orange soda at times. Decent balance of hop and orange. Moderate carbonation, light body, crisp texture, and a mildly astringent finish. An interesting, fruity, drinkable pale ale.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Medium to light amber with heavy amounts of sediment (fruit) and a foamy head with little retention. Flavors fruity, floral, light pine and orange peel. Flavors pine, floral, slightly fruity hops, hints of tangerine and light grass. Medium bitterness, lightly sweet, and medium dry. Notice the orange in more of wheat comes off as tangerine but lightly. Nicely paired fruit that fits very well.

On tap at Sunset Grille. Review based on pint at Darby's. Cloudy orange. Nice lacing from minimal cap. Aroma of oranges and zest spritz, a touch of pine, and candied sugar. Taste is pretty weak citrus and hop. Good, dry finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle into a Duvel tulip.
A: Pours a hazy...should I say it? Okay. Pours a hazy orange color. The head is a one finger offwhite shade thatís very bubbly in its texture. Some sheeted lacing is left behind as well.
S: Pleasant tones of mango, pine, Simcoe cattiness, and crackery malt abound. I also pick up a hint of blood orange, as well - especially when it opens up - but given the advertising of blood oranges, Iíd expect it to smell less like a typical Simcoe-hopped pale ale. To be fair, though, blood orange is a VERY common note in pale ales...
T: It starts off with touches of pine and mango. After the midpoint is where the advertised blood oranges comes through, creating a juicy yet bitter finish. Itís not superbly interesting, all told, however it does live up to its billing.
M: Not as clean as Iíd like it to be. Also a bit on the heavy side in terms of texture. Pleasantly bitter and carbonated, though.
O: The use of blood oranges here isnít enough to make this stand out from the scores of pale ales on the market. Iíd reckon its worth a try, just donít expect to be blown away.

Pure white head. Body is cloudy orange. Could be mistaken by accident. Slight orangy aroma.Flavor is actually on the sour side, not sweet like I expected from a blood orange. Only bought a single bottle to try. Now I wish Iíd got the whole six pack!.

A very nice unique beer. Pours a thick yellow with a light white head. Smells just like blood oranges. Lots in the taste as well, but smoothed out by the hops. Everything works well together. Had on tap at the brewpub.
