4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A very descent ale that was as cloudy as it was citrusy. Minimal carbonation after pouring it into a glass. The funky bottle made it stand out on the shelf and was well worth the gamble.

I really enjoyed this pale ale. the blood orange added a great dimension to both the flavor and the aroma. The sweetness help balance out the hops. if it was distributed closer to me I would buy a couple six packs for the summer

Draft at craft ale house. Pours hazy orange with a medium sized white head. The aroma has plenty of floral notes, light pine, some light citrus. The taste is bitter up front with a nice balance of orange peel, grapefruit, grassy good. Really nice.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours hazy and on golden hues with a soft orange blush. Thin head of white foam that fell quickly and left some good sheeting lace. Nose is orange. The tangy sweet blood orange. A bit of the pith and a touch of sugar for malt. Taste is lovely citrus with that blood orange prominent and then a touch fo the tart grapefruit to hold it up. A little bit of sweet herbal and a and a bit of cracker from the malt carry this one to the finish like a spiked orange -ade.
I just loved this and think it’s one the most pleasant pales I have tried. Sweet and tart combine seamlessly for a a palate that is quenched and satisfied. Light fruity and juicy mouthfeel. Silken malt with ample carbonation. Crisp and bold palate with a brisk finish and lingering tartness and slight bitterness.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy straw colored body under a one inch frothy white head that had very nice retention. The nose is pretty typical for an APA, nice fresh and juicy hops with a fairly dry crackery malt. It smalls pretty delicious, but I can’t say that I get much influence from the fruit in here. The hops have a very New Zealand quality to them, but no indication of what is used on the label. The flavor is just lightly bitter, much more of a fruity and juicy expression from the hops. The malt is dry and crackery with a light and thin finish. Very easy drinking and light bodied with fine fizzy carbonation. Not sure I really taste much from the blood oranges either, but I think that may be from the choice of hops in here. This is pretty enjoyable, I could drink a sixer of this pretty easy on a warm day.

Red-orange pour, foamy head. Pine, citrus, orange juice aroma. Blood orange and juicy hops in the flavor. Soapy bitterness on the long finish. Nice before-noon drinker, mimosa for the beer set. 7/4/8/4/15=3.8
Revist at home, 12 oz bottles 4/21/14.
Lighter than red-orange pour this time (was I imagining before, or has it changed?) Not aggressive at all, but the orange and citrus hops blend just right to make for a delicious beer. Super-drinkable. Bump to 7/4/8/4/16=3.9
(One of many) revisit(s) 5/28/14. OMFG. I suddenly get it. I had no idea what Prufrock was talking about when he described a mustard thing going on that ruins this beer -- now I totally get it. This one has mustard all up in your face on the front end of the beer. I can’t really pin in down to a particular hop or other ingredient, nor can I even specify other beers that suffer from the same. I guess it’s a characteristic of a few APAs that push too far out along a spectrum I would normally describe as metallic, but even that I’m not sure of. In any case, yeah, a ton of mustard detracts significantly.
