4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap @ Collins Pub. Pours dark orange with light body and thin off-white head. Aroma is nutmeg, cinnamon, and mild pumpkin. Big pumpkin, brown sugar, pumpkin spice, and nutmeg flavors. Nice bitter hops on the finish. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. They seem to have ’de-tuned’ this beer in 2012 as it used to be 9.5% and is now listed at 8.1%. I know they moved production down to the Georgetown brewery, and the greatly improved availability of this is much appreciated... but I liked the old version a bit better. It was stronger, sweeter, more syrupy. Still, this is great - legit big pumpkin taste without being over the top.

Bottle. I was a little disappointed by this one. The pumpkin part was great. Nice orange color. Not much head. Aroma and taste was pumpkin pie right on but the high gravity was not hidden. In fact the alcohol kind of smacks you right in the month. Still not a bad beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The beer appears a radiant orange hue with a small head that rapidly fades to nil. The aroma offers cinnamon, pumpkin pie, brown sugar. Sweet and definitely true to style. Lots of brown sugar and cinnamon character. Thin body with low carbonation. Alcohol content well hidden. A tasty beer, though a little goes a long way. A good beer to share a few ways.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, 2013 bottling. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of huge pumpkin flesh, pumpkin seed, cinnamon, gingerbread, nutmeg, toast, caramel, brown sugar, clove, allspice, pie crust, herbal, and toasted earthiness. Absolutely insane aromas with incredible complexity and balance of pumpkin, malt, and spice notes; with great strength. Taste of big pumpkin flesh, pumpkin seed, cinnamon, gingerbread, nutmeg, clove, allspice, toast, caramel, brown sugar, pie crust, herbal, and toasted earthiness. Lingering notes of pumpkin, pumpkin seed, cinnamon, gingerbread, pie crust, nutmeg, clove, allspice, caramel, brown sugar, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of pumpkin, malt, and spice flavors; with big authentic pumpkin presence and fantastic malt/spice balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth and lightly slick/syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an absolutely insane imperial pumpkin ale. All around amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of malt/pumpkin/spice flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A world class pumpkin ale for sure.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a rusty pumpkin orange colour with a lacy head. The nose screams pumpkin pie, not just the spices, you get the sweetness and the roasted pumpkin flavour. The flavour starts with the normal pumpkin spice, and has a watery pumpkin flavour that carries it into a toasted speculaas.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Slightly hazy orange with a small pale head. Aroma is pumpkin pie - pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, graham cracker. Slight creamy mouthfeel, sweet on the palate. Pretty much like liquid pumpkin pie, flavours match the aroma. Kind of wish I had a slice of pie right now.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Visual: Pours bright golden orange with bits of suspended sediment, barely any head, thin micro CO2 ringed retention, some slow streams.
Nose: cinnamon, nutmeg spiced malts, pumpkin, caramel, banana. (5)-aromatic strength
Attack: subdued alcohol, crispness with fizzy-tingly mouthfeel
Mid-palate: (6)-sweetness, (MAIN) banana, sweet caramel malts, pumpkin (HINTS) cinnamon & nutmeg
Finish: ginger dryness, hoppy bitterness, toffee sweet aftertaste, soft bitter-hop finish.
Summary: Great structure and interesting flavours. Quite different from all the other pumpkin beers that I’ve tried in that it has the sweetness and floralness of a tripel in addition to pumpkin and spices. Unique and recommended. (Note: all numbers above are on a 10-point scale, with 1 being weak and 10 being the strongest)
