2011 GPBF. It is what I thought it was. Essentially a trumped up Night Owl which isn’t my favorite pumpkin ale to begin with. If you’ve had that, you’ve had this.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ughsmash (6723) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 7, 2011
Bomber. Poured pumpkiny orange with a short-ish lived off-white head. The aroma picked up warm pumpkin meat and a touch of honey with plenty of pumpkin-related spicage around (nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and a touch of vanilla).. warm, enjoyable sugars tickled the back of the nose. The flavor found about what I expected and wanted.. pumpkin meat and biscuity notes at the core, with cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla around.. tacky spices over roasty pumpkin on the finish.. tasty stuff. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate, with some tartness from the spices.. very enjoyable brew all around.

22 oz. bottle from 5000. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma reminds me of Frisch’s pumpkin pie; sweet, pumpkin, the usual suspects of spices. The flavor did not disappoint. This was a liquified version of Frisch’s pumpkin pie with the whipped cream. Everything worked well together; sweet, pumpkin, spices. Definitely one of the better pumpkin beers I’ve had.
