Poured amber, little lacing. Smell was a sweet floral, but mostly malts. Taste was sweet, and actually refreshing at 6%+ percent. This was very drinkable, lots of sediment, and ended a sweet smoothy beer.

Bottle 650ml.
Light unclear medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, moderate to light heavy hoppy, pine, grapefruit, orange. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090813]

Hazy light golden pour with a white head of decent size. Nice retention, good sticky lace. Aroma consists of citrus and floral hops, a touch of caramel. Pretty funky overall on the flavors... somewhat grapefruity but a strange unidentifiable mid-palate that I can’t quite put a finger on but it’s not desirable to me. Medium body, moderate-high carbonation, very small amount of alcohol warmth. Decent.

Bomber into pint glass. Pours gold with a bit of amber and a beige head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is sweet cakey malt with honey and some candied citrusy hops. Flavor is sweet orange, honey, apple bread, and a touch of mint. Too sweet, not hoppy enough. Mouthfeel is a little coarse but other ok.

Bottle, New Belgium version. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, cereal, wort), moderately hoppy (resin, grapefruit), with light notes of detergent and cotton candy. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic, lightly to moderately astringent. Rough malt character (some raw unfermented grain smell even!), otherwise quite simple and uninteresting. Nice mouthfeel is about it.

Dark orange color with a small head. Aroma has pine and citrus hops with a balanced caramel sweetness. Flavor is similar, a bit of a lingering pine hops bitterness.

Amber color with bubbly white head. Aroma is citrus and pine hops, light biscuit. Flavor is less pronounced citrus, more bitter and spice, light caramel and hop resin. Finish is lasting bitter-sweet and moderate in strength with a fairly dry mouthfeel. Drinkable but I would give many other IPAs a shot before coming back to this one.
