notalush (2627), Denver, Colorado, USA Jul 10, 2008 Pours a hazy copper, with a soapy ring of white foam - aroma of dough, citrus fruits, rice flour, bread - fairly herbal and hoppy up front, but an odd flavor quickly develops that is starchy and vegetal, like potatoes and other root plants - gets sweet and a little fruity later, and the bitterness returns a bit, bringing with it a kind of coppery character - the starchy character remains underneath it all, though - gets even sweeter and honey-like in the finish - bizarre, and not entirely enjoyable. tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 10, 2008 Bottle shared with Jon, Mabel, and Jerc, courtesy of Jon (thanks for sharing!).Dark golden orange small foamy white head. Nice hoppy aroma, citrusy. Great hoppy taste - sticky and citrusy. A fantastic IPA. apshah99 (137), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 8, 2008 Copper pour with frothy white head. Sweet aroma with citrus malt. Tastes of honey and grapefruit with nice piney bitter finish. Very good carbonation and viscous mouthfeel. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA Jun 30, 2008 Bomber. Orange color with a frothy off-white head. Floral, citrus and pine hop aroma. There was a delicate honeyed sweetness in the malts, infused with a sticky, mostly citrus hop profile. Tame bitterness on the finish. Full bodied with fine carbonation. I would have preferred a bit more of a hop bite in this one, but pretty decent nonetheless. mcbackus (725), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Jun 30, 2008 pours a clean golden honey colour with a small white head. aroma i s a bitter grapefruit hop, some fresh fruits and a decent malt aroma.wow the flavour is very sweet and slightly syrupy, some bitter hops in the finish that aare pretty good but over all just a little to thick and sweet, sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 27, 2008 elysian immortal - bottle, alone sadly. copper ore hue, clear with tiny particulate matter homogenously interspersed. small, big bubbled head. smells of dishwater hops, some almond/metal in there too. a big sip is pretty drinkable, a lot of malt rounding this guy out, probably overpowering the hops a little. slightly bitter back end, mostly cloying sweetness around the rest. mouthfeel is like the aroma, pretty soapy and slick. nothing special hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Jun 26, 2008 On tap at the Blind Tiger. Light orange in color with a small lasting off white head. Aroma: some floral and earthy hops, with a touch of citrus and pale malts. The hop aroma was on the subdued side compared to some of their other pale ales. Taste is moderately hoppy with floral, and a touch of citrus. Medium body, very drinkable. Bitterness was light to moderate in the finish in comparison to other beers of the style. SDalkoholic (1186), Chula Vista, California, USA Jun 20, 2008 On cask @ San Diego real ale festival: This poured as a pure golden color with a decent serving of head and had a nose of fresh hop that stood out compared to the rest. The flavor was dowsed in green wet sticky freshly picked hops and was almost like a harvest ale. A definite repeat, but the problem is where to find this? I would settle for a bottle or tap.
