bitterpeanut (15), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 26, 2006 Poured from a 22oz bomber. Pours with a nice think white head. This brew is bottle conditioned and the yeast used really cleaned up this beer. This IPA is not as cloudy as most IPAs with its golden-orange color. I’m not sure if this was dry-hopped or not, but the hop aroma isn’t as pronounced as you might expect. A nice citrus and herbal nose. On the palette the Immortal IPA has a light to medium body that gets a little thicker when the hop bitterness kicks in. A little on the high side for carbonation IMHO. A sweet light malty flavor accompanied by a medium to heavy bitterness. I would buy this one again for sure. Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Oct 25, 2006 KSBF 06 after party. Thanks to Kenb for hooking me up on this one! Pours a light amber/copper with a nice tight thick head, and some good lace. Aroma is pungent and orangy with slight cascade-metallicy-ness. Citrusy hop flavor with some light pine- ligth crystal malts and toasty. Good very clean moderate bitterness. Not over the top, but definitely nice and hoppy. Solid IPA. Vac (2389), San Diego, California, USA Oct 25, 2006 Pours with a golden orange body topped by a thick head with some lacing. It’s bitter with a mostly grassy hop note, a hint of pineyness and an underlying malt note. The aroma is lacking. Medium bodied, dry and smooth. IslandHaole (1035), Onna-Son, Okinawa-Ken, Japan Oct 24, 2006 Deep amber/orange color with active carbonation. A massive thick, sculptable foamy tan head leaves patches of lacing on the glass. Typical wonderful hoppy IPA scent with pine and grapefruit rinds. A brisk, cleansing bitterness up front with just a hint of caramel sweetness appearing before giving way to a lingering bitter follow. A solid offering in the crowded IPA field. It’s been so long, I’ve forgotten who to thank for this but I think it’s BuckDich. SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Oct 18, 2006 bottle from sams in chicago
copper with a white head that is long lasting as a rim around the glass. nose medium hops, not much grapefruit bot some More of the grainy part of hops. the taste is full, more hops than in the nose but again, more of those grains. add some malts and this goes from mediocre to great. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 18, 2006 On tap at Elysian, Seattle. Copper, lasting beige head. Very drinkable. Aromatic amarillo hops. Nice hop up front on aroma, not outrageous, then they kick in. It’s ridiculously drinkable. Hops are intense, but more aromatic than some IPAs. Some bitterness, not sweet or sticky and quite clean. lukin013 (211), Columbia, Maryland, USA Oct 17, 2006 Pours a dark orange copper color. Fluffy off-white head with good lacing. Heavy citrus nose. Flavor is excellently balanced between citrus hops and sweet toffee malts. Very thick and creamy mouthfeel different from most IPAs. Very unique and very delicious. Thanks to Indiana Red for the bottle. IrishBoy (2686), Bakersfield, California, USA Oct 14, 2006 Sample shared by Odeed; Thanks Jake! Nose was nice and hoppy; Yellow orange with a small white head; Falvor of hops with a mildly bitter finish.
